it could be a small tumor, but my dog has a lot of those lumps. my vet said they are only fat patches and if they get bigger, he can remove them. they are no big deal if they r just fat. talk 2 your vet and see what he thinks. hope your pooch is gonna b okay...ill keep her in my prayers!!

More than likely it's a hernia. We have a small toy breed as well and it's easy for them to get hernias. Is the lump moveable or hard? If its hard, it's not usually cancer. We took our dog to the vet to get checked on. they will do a biopsy or surgery to determine. Of course take her to the vet however, it could be a simple injury. Good luck!

Please take her to the vet, We had something like that with our mini dachshund, a week ago. I took her to the vet, they take a sample and put her on meds. Our's was in the neck area above her front leg. She had a hard time walking and would yelp when she was picked up. It was rock hard shaped like an egg. Not sure if it is the same, but the vet did tell me that cancer in that age of is not real normal.
I'm sure it could happen but not as likely. ( My mini is 2 years old) BUT what ever it is please have her checked at the vet's office.
