Ask the vet who did the surgery. It may vary depending on how well the procedure went, age of dog or factors particular to your dog. If the animal needs cleaning but you are unsure about getting the surgical site wet, maybe you can give the pooch a careful shampoo/sponge bath without setting the surgery site.

you need to wait 2-4 weeks however you can wash him down with a warm washcloth and gentle soap i washed mine too soon after neuter and caused bleeding so wait and just use the washcloth method until its time
