My pup 7 months old now licks EVERYTHING, constantly. Doors, mirrors, walls, chairs, me. Really... I know there is that bitter apple stuff that my trainer told me about. It's not a huge deal, but I'm just wondering if anyone else's dog does this!!!

me beagle does the same thing! walls, tables, the floor, my bed, the cat, basically anything he can touch! I think it's kind of theraputic for him, he kinda spaces out when he does it and jumps when you call his name. I'm glad to know other dogs do it too!

Licking that much can actually be a sign of puppy-vitamin deficiency. Your vet can do a simple test to see if your dog's chemical levels are okay. That happened w/ my dog when I was 25, and I just had gotten him, and it turned out we needed to change his food and give him a puppy multivitamin each morning in his food. It made him all better.
If it's not from that, I would agree w/ your trainer to try the bitter apple spray. You can also ignore him when he does it and reward him w/ "good boy," and lots of puppy petting time when he does something good as an alternate.

My pups lick some but not that much. I would work on him not licking so much because he could lick the wrong thing and get hurt, like the electric socket.

Yeah, it's pretty normal for pups to lick and nip at things. You might want to stop it now before it progresses to chewing though. That can be quite destructive.

The reason they do it is for the same reason a baby human touch every thing... to learn.
