I've tried leaving the house for a few seconds and then going back in and praising her for not howling, but I can't seem to get her to stay quiet for more than 5 minutes. I leave her the tv on, she has lots of toys, fresh water, treats scattered round the house for her to hunt out & she even has on old t-shirt of mine in her bed. Her howling has started to cause friction between next door & us, which I can't really blame them cos if it were the other way around, I wouldn't be happy with a dog making all that noise.

I have a dalmation/doberman/lab mix, she is almost 8 years old, and she is ALL BLACK except for a little bit of white on her chest. Last month I noticed a little snow/bleach white spot on her ear, I checked it and it was hair in a perfect circle. Now I have found another perfect circle snow/bleach white spot behind the same ear. Yesterday I also found another perfect circle, snow/bleach with spot on her shoulder on the same side as the ear.
My question is: What is causing this???

My dad has a female shih tzu/poodle mix dog and my uncle has a male shih tzu/maltese dog.

My uncle found his dog wandering the neighborhood 5 years ago and he decided to keep it so he doesn't know the dog's history.

Well my dad wants his dog to have one litter before she gets spayed.

Only problem is, we're not sure if the male is neutered! We don't want to go through the trouble of trying to mate them if it's not going to work.

How can we tell if he's been neutered??? Any identifying scars to search for?

Please, only serious answers! Thanks!

I have recently bought a german shepherd pup. He has a lovely temperment. I have been training him the basics such as sit/come and walking on a lead. I have also been training him to wait for his food until I tell him to eat. Today I feed him and then gave him a large bone with a few scraps of meat on it. He was very defensive of it such that when i tried to give him a pet as i was leaving he was snarling at me. What do you do about this? I obviously need to nip this real quick. He is 12 weeks old.

My 1 yr old chihuahua female is pad trained perfection. After her recent delievery of her pups, now she seems to only go on the pad when she feels like it?? Or she will pee on my sis-in-law's bed (where the male chihuahua sleeps). Or she will poo on the kitchen floor (she did that a few times already the past week). Can females be territorial??? She also pees close to where the male chihuahua pees at when i take'em out to our yard? Is any of that normal? Is it jealousy? We give her so much more attention now that i'm pregnate and home myself with her versus me working and only seeing her a couple of hours before bed? Whats going on?

Dog is a 12 week old cockapoo. He is doing a good job with house training during the day (we are using the crate training method!), but I am not comfortable going outside at 4am. Should I try puppy pads at 4am and take them up after he's done? Will this confuse him and ruin the house training? Are there other options for 4am bathroom breaks?

My neighbor abuses her dautson. He is so loving and good. She smacks him, makes him stay on his bed all day and night, and worst of all, she kicked him and he walks with his back legs to the side of him. She has had at least three violations filed with our manager and still is not punished. Another violation was reported yesterday because she was dragging him. Nothing happened.
She threatens management with discrimination and they are affraid of her. She is huge, probably 325 and has a harsh voice. Could everyone be affraid of her?

I am looking into getting a Dachshund.. A Puppy more then likley.. And I also have a 2yr old Calico cat (female).. My brother keeps telling me that Dachshunds kill cats.. becuase his father in law owns a couple and they do hunt and kill kittens (which I hate) But I have also seen people have them AND cats.. so if anyone could clairify this for me I would be most greatful.. My brother also said that one of his friends Dachshund gave their cat a heartattack from chasing it too much.. but IMO.. if my cat hasnt gotten a heart attack from my brothers 1yr Doberman.. then I kinda doubt a Dachshund Will have that much effect.. Thank you for your time and Awsners.

My 8 week-old puppy twitches a lot in her sleep. Is she just dreaming, or should I be concerned about something else?

We have a 7 year old Husky female, and she has been peeing in her sleep. We found multiple spots from here she had slept and pee puddles. I'm really concerned because my dad got super mad when she did it on the suede couch. Any suggestions besides seeing a vet? We could, but I would love just a no cost answer temporarily?

Yes, she is spayed and no she isn't overweight. Here is a picture: http://www.petfinder.com/fotos/ca622/ca6...

If we did take her to the vet, can anyone estimate the cost to get antibiotics/medicine/anything else? Based on what i've heard she may have:

Hormone imbalance
Spay problem
Bladder infection
Kidney infection
or just be a Sound sleeper
