We have a 7 year old Husky female, and she has been peeing in her sleep. We found multiple spots from here she had slept and pee puddles. I'm really concerned because my dad got super mad when she did it on the suede couch. Any suggestions besides seeing a vet? We could, but I would love just a no cost answer temporarily?
Yes, she is spayed and no she isn't overweight. Here is a picture: http://www.petfinder.com/fotos/ca622/ca6...

If we did take her to the vet, can anyone estimate the cost to get antibiotics/medicine/anything else? Based on what i've heard she may have:
Hormone imbalance
Spay problem
Bladder infection
Kidney infection
or just be a Sound sleeper

Nobody can estimate that. However, it would be cheaper to take her in sooner than later, because it could get worse, infections always do. It won't be that costly to take her in and it is better than her suffering because those infections are so very painful. I bet she don't like peeing on herself either. Besides it is cheaper than a new couch, and better to have her healthy, and dad happy. There is no such thing as a no cost solution. when a person has something wrong, you go to the doctor, so you take your amimals to one when something is wrong with them. It is your obligation. Good Luck.

You should take her to a vet because it could be any of the problems that you have listed. Have the vet run an urineanylsis and bloodwork that would help find out what the underlying condition that is occuring. Also keep a look out for any blood in the urine as this could signify a problem that needs to be examed immediately. A at home treatment you can use is cranberry extract pills they help regulate urine.

You know dear heart, this happens to people too and I was told the bladder did not develop as fast as the rest of the body and cannot contain the urine. I had that problem until puberty and believe me if the same thing happens with animals... they are NOT aware of this until they wake up. BEEN THERE DONE THAT.I wish I could help you with more infos but I'm not a medical person or a vet. Just one who had the same problem. By the way, it stopped by itself. No medicine or antibiotics. If it doesn't pass though. It would be good to see a vet to know his opinion. He would be more qualified

It is impossible to estimate the cost without knowing what is wrong, what kinds of tests have to be done, what type of treatments she will need, what part of the country you live in. If you love your dog, take it to the vet. The longer you wait, the worse the problem will get and if it is something serious she could die.

My dog did this for awhile and she had a horrible UTI and a kidney infection. It took anti biotics 2 months to get rid of the infection. She had been playing in a nasty mucky pond most of the summer, and that was where the bacteria was coming from. We filled it in with dirt now.

my golden did that and they put her on whats called (des) and it went away.It was pretty bad but no problem now .I give it to her once a week and its cheap. Its something that happens to larger female spayed dogs .Its really no big deal once you get meds. There are side effects later in life from the meds but I use the pills because of humane reasons no dog wants to sit or sleep in there own pee.Take her in you will see.My golden is now 10 and so far the side effects have not hit her yet. This is common in medium to larger female spayed dogs.

I would say the vet too, if she had any of the problems you listed, only a vet would know how to diagnose and treat it. Sorry.
