My 8 week-old puppy twitches a lot in her sleep. Is she just dreaming, or should I be concerned about something else?

Probably just dreaming. My dog used to move his legs like he was running

no dont you worry unless there are other signs of what she is doing. when you say twitcing though, do you mean her little feet start to twitch, her nose... her paws? My pups are adorable to watch when they sleep. My 5 month old actually just started yelping in his sleep and it broke my heart, but then I realized, dogs only dream about what they know, so he's probably dreaming about chasing his 4 month old sis around. It's unlikely it is something deeper than that, but if you notice anything else, just ask your vet. Enjoy the cuteness!

She's probably just dreaming. Some dogs look like they're running in their sleep. My dogs whine and bark when they are dreaming sometimes. The first time my boyfriend heard his dog do this he became alarmed and thought there was something wrong with him. Now we know it's just normal doggy behavior. But if you're worried ask your vet.

I agree with the others...sounds like she is dreaming. To make sure she has comfort, get an old fashioned wind up clock and wrap it in a sock. (make sure the alarm is not turned on!) This might help her to get a more restful sleep. She is a very young pup.

It looks like normal. My dog twitches a bit in his sleep and also whimpers or barks sometimes.

I have always believed animals dreamed of what they did during the day ,running ,jumping you know ,but keep an eye on her and if it concerns you too much consult a vet.Good luck

All dogs twitch sometimes while sleeping/dreaming. Sometimes it's a bad dream and sometimes it's not. My dog twitches in his face, moves his legs and can sometimes bark in his sleep. (He also snores sometimes)

Your puppy's just dreaming. My dog did it a lot when she was younger. She still does it, but not as much. Don't worry it'll be fine.

Puppies and adult dogs move their feet and legs when they are sleeping, looking like they are running in their dreams.
