Mmm...donuts...*drool*
Seriously, though, fatty sugar-laden treats aren't particularly good for dogs (or humans, for that matter).
But of course I've fed my dogs and cats things I shouldn't have--I had a 3-legged cat who loved grape jelly, for example.
I'm more concerned that your dogs look skinny to you--what kind of dogs do you have? Some dogs, like Greyhounds, are normally very slender, whereas some, like Beagles, are prone to be chubby (no offense to any Beagle owners, I don't want any angry comments).
But, If their ribs, hips, and/or backbone is sticking out, then that may be a cause for concern.
Many, many dogs are overweight or obese--in fact I rarely see a dog that is the proper weight. So they are probably healthy, but you may want to check with your vet just to be sure.
So, the best treat is something like a good old MilkBone or Iams biscuit, something that is well-balanced and specifically made for dogs.

Good luck!

Feeding your dogs some table food once in a while isn't bad, but it shouldn't be all the time. Sugar products aren't really all that great for dogs. If your dogs are skinny try feeding them a different brand or type of dog food. If your dogs remain skinny then take them to the vet because they might have worms. If the dogs have worms then the worms are basically eating all the dog's food and the dog isn't getting much nourishment.

YES there are dog treats that are for dogs. we love our dogs so we feed them our food. but that is not alway good. if your dogs are skinny take them to the vet first and make sure they dont have worms or something else. if they are health ask the vet what you should do .. treats are good and leaveing more dog food out. how much do you feed the dog/ how meny times a day?. what kind of dog is it?.. is the dog you have ment to be thin? i feed my dog can food 2 times a day and leave dry food out at all time. she doesnt like dry food but when she wants some it is there.. her weight is just right for her and has been for over 5 yrs. some dog you can not do that with because they eat untell they are sick.. you have to know what kind of dog you have and what good for it. keep to the dog foods and treats. and yes i do feed my dog people food but only meat.. well expet for the hamburges we go out to sonic for..LOL.. that our thing and once in a while we have ice cream..

It is not really a good idea to feed your dog any kind of human food for a couple reasons one the dog will become more prone to begging for scraps, plus human food can make your pup sick. If you want to get some weight on your dog feed him puppy food as it is higher in calories and fat content than adult food. Also the weight problem may be related to the health of the animal. It would be a good idea to take him to the vet for a check up. Maybe your dog just looks skinny to you or it could be the ideal weight here is a site that rates the weight ratio of dogs.

People who say don't feed your dogs table food and chocolate are just saying that because of the rumors about them. I have fed both of my dogs table food and they love it and nothing is wrong with them. And yes it's true that they wont eat their food and thats because you are giving them too much table food to where they arent hungry. Duh. Just give it to them every once in a while as a treat and they will be fine. The chocolate thing is only a problem if they eat a whole bunch of it every day. I've given my lab a piece of a chocolate chip cookie and he is fine. Just do what you want with your dog so he/ she can enjoy life!

Human food isn't good for dogs, especially junk food. Take the dogs to the vet to find out why they are so skinny. They might be sick or have a parasite (like worms). Or mabe you should be feeding them more dog food. Your vet should be able to figure this out.

If it's not good for you it is certainly not good for your dog. If it has Choclate in it it can actually kill the animal; that is poison for most pets. They have special foods for dogs that are underweight. Take him to your vet he can give you and your dog the best treatment option. If you cannot afford a vet call your local humane society and they can recommend a place that is either free or low cost.

People food like that is not good for your dogs, even if they loved them. Stick with healthier options like quality dog food, minimal treats, meat, etc. If you're concerned that your dogs look like they are underweight, consult your vet and determine whether or not a change in their diet is necessary. If they need to gain weight, do it the healthy way, not with human junk food.

Human food is bad for dogs especially. They won't live as long and they get to be overweight. Feed them regular dog food, it's more humane.
