I have a dalmation/doberman/lab mix, she is almost 8 years old, and she is ALL BLACK except for a little bit of white on her chest. Last month I noticed a little snow/bleach white spot on her ear, I checked it and it was hair in a perfect circle. Now I have found another perfect circle snow/bleach white spot behind the same ear. Yesterday I also found another perfect circle, snow/bleach with spot on her shoulder on the same side as the ear.
My question is: What is causing this???

she has not lost any hair, its just changing color. White not grey.

Could be something as simple as age spots. Let us all know what the vet says, I'm really curious.

My goodness people the dog is turning white because of old age my dog had the same thing and it was just old age not no bugs or parasites..Just hair changing from old age some dogs get the gray/white hairs on their ears stomach and around the face and eyes..Dog breeder & trainer of labs for the blind for 13 years..

The dog is turning grey as it ages, just as humans do....the perfect circles is caused due to the dalmation in her. Nothing to worry about.

you said she was part Dalmatian now that she is getting older her coat is starting to change it may look white i bet it's Grey because of aging. The circle shape could be the Dalmatian in her. No need to worry.

It is a combination of old age and Dalmation. It could be that she has a disease or external or internal parasites or worms and she has a white second coat.

She is getting older and her coat is changing. The same thing happens in animals as in people when they get older, their hair turns white or grey, although in animals it's usually in certain areas as opposed to all over.

Just gettin old as do people. Dog will get gray hair just like we do when we get older. I had a dog that turned gray around his mouth. He looked like he had a beard and mustache.

Hmmm. Never heard of this. I would guess that it is just age too...but, I've never heard of a perfect circle...the dalmation in her maybe??

its just old age, certian spots where she scratches the hair has become weak and has started to turn grey/white

it could be a dog kind of lime disease, like a bug carawling underneath the dogs skin and causing the dog to lose hair.
