POI DOG - - - mixed breed - - - mongrel - - - people truly love integration - - - those that have a mixed breed dog outnumber all the those that have a special breed. If purity is a yardstick I'd suggest German Shepherd, Poodle, Skye Terrier, Doberman, in that order - - - but a POI DOG, which is what we called mixed breeds in Hawai'i - - - they are most definitely a majority. Used to be the Cocker Spaniel I thought.. When we had more room/acerage to run it was hands down the Lab (Black, Yellow or even White or Chocolate these days :) All are beautful and if I had room - I wouldn't take a Cocker - but I would a Lab anyday of the week! :)
These days with the many toy breeds that are more acceptable as apartment pets OR the designer breeds with Pom-Shih (1/2 Pom 1/ Shih-Tzu) who knows! In all honesty I love my Pom-Shih and I'm very interested in Chihuahua's at the moment as well - they have grown immensly in popularity too!

I don't know, but get a breed that can handle the climate in your area and one that fits your lifestyle.
*Fair warning, every breed is capable of biting someone despite what everyone tells you. There are records for an attack from every breeds.* Get a breed that fits your lifestyle. If you're not going to play with it for hours at a time, don't get a breed that requires a lot of exercise.

In India, the MUTT is the ruling breed of dog. I have seen a gang / group of mutts get rid of every other decent breed around. I've seen mutts drive people crazy and eventually, gotten rid of the people due to the mutt problem. Ther is no cure for the existence of these mutts who move around in gangs & groups and waste everything in their way. And after they waste, ther is the dumb barking & howling. Btw, i have seen this behaviour of mutts only in India. Everywhere else, they are cutdown & putdown as they should be.

an Alsatian-German Shepard- is wonderful. but you have to look after it!
if you are in a hot climate may be a hairless dog like a bulldog may be better.
if you live in an apartment-no space- the a dachshund..
it all depends on what you are looking for and where you live!
still nothing like an Alsatian....

a golden retriever bcuz most playful no records of an attack and the love to play and cuddle perfect dog!!

Chows
And Pitt Bulls (any kind of Pitt)

last i heard, in the US, among purebreds, the labrador retriever was #1 and the golden retriever was #2.
