Dogs - August 2006

I was the one who asked what kind of dog to get while i am in college...but some of you answered why not get a cat...so now i want to know which is the best for a college person who still lives at home and has the whole basement to herself...cat, dog, kitten, puppy? Which is the best? If you know another pet that would work feel free to say that one too!

I have heard that there are certain breeds that can be very stubborn about this....dachsunds for one thing. Does anyone know anything about this? And if so, what other breeds are like this and why?

That being said, I know someone with a dachsund that is around 5 years old, still not very well potty trained. She pees in the house even though she is crate trained (although if she is still going in the house, I don't know if you can exactly say she's crate trained...) and even though she is let out every 2-3 hours. We know that It's not a health-bladder issue so what is the problem?

Ok I have two kitties...they are 4 months old but the take up the whole bed...my husband is ready to kick them off the bed for good...Should I just get a bigger bed or kick the kitties off. But I figure that either way they are going to continue to sleepo with us...Any Advice???

I want a dog really bad but i don't wanna scoop the poop when i walk it which is illegal and somebody might step in it which is gross. Should I get a different pet. ( i don't want a cat either) Thanx!

a small dog don't shed i already have 2 dogs tahst the family dogs they are big they were so small when we got them now they jump aroudn to much so when they die lol i hope soon cause i want a dog that stays small and cute taht doesn't bite help me pls

i have a 6-month old puppy that is and australian sheperd//mini poodle mix. she has long wavy hair. but as i noticed, she`s starting to have alot of white hairs coming out of her tail,face,and body !

It always barks when I'm doing something in my yard and I will slowly aproach it and kneel down so it can smell me a little and get use to me. But it always barks or barks and runs away. I can take it for walks or play with it in my neighbors yard and it doesnt bark. what can i do to become good friends with it, cuz its a cool dog.

I think they are great dogs. i have had many and they have all been better than goldens and labs and all of those "family" type dogs. What do you think? I think Hate the Deed, not the breed!!!!

Okay so we just bought a beagle, shes very good doesnt bark much, doesnt chew, pees outside always, but she will not poo outside! I dont know what to do i'll take her out every hour or so and stay our for like ten minutes she'll pee when she needs to but she will not poo for anything, then i'll bring her in and she'll poo in the house!? why is she doing this and does anyone have suggestions as to how to stop this or help her? Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks!
