i had a long haired standard sized weiner dog and he had the same problem......the vet told me to use equal parts of water and vinagar.....it kills the bacteria in the ear.....the vinagar still smells but after a few treatments it doesnt smell as bad....make sure you flip the dogs ears back a couple of times a day so that the ear canal can get air to it....the fresh air helps dry it out in there

It's probably a yeast infection, especially if your dog has ears that kind of hang down as opposed to sticking up all the time. It's pretty common in those dogs, especially during warmer months or rainy seasons.

There's some good ear cleaning solutions at the pet stores. Any of the sales assocates should be able to help you. These solutions WILL NOT get rid of the infection, but they will help out a bit until you can take your pup to the vet.

Probable ear infection. Use Opticlens solution as per directed by your vet. The smell you are describing is how we as humans know when a dog has a ear infection.

It could be an ear infection that you can't see. Take the dog to the Vet. An untreated ear infection can make a dog go deaf.

Go to a pet store and buy ear cleaning stuff for dogs. Then clean you dogs ears about once a week, but if he has a problem everyday until they get better then once a week. Good Luck.

jessica, if there is an unusual odor coming from your dog's ears, that might indicate a infection. Take the animal to your vet.

Use a solution of 50% Vinegar and 50% Water and insert the solution into the ear canal. Gently massage it in and use cotton balls to clean out any debris.
