http://www.dogbirthdaysandparties.com/Qstore/dogbirthdaycakerecipe.htm I recomend this site. The cake all the dogs I know love them and they have great tips for a good party. But fruits and veggies some of them are ok not all of them. here is some info on what they can and cannot have While dogs can eat some of the same foods that we do, there are many they should not eat. Some common foods you may have around your house could kill your dog in the right amount.

Some foods dogs should not eat

If your dog has ingested any of these foods, get veterinary help immediately
Grapes and Raisins: Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs. As little as a single serving of raisins can kill a dog
Onions: Onions destroy red blood cells and can cause anemia.
Chocolate: Chocolate can cause seizures, coma and death. Baker’s chocolate is the most dangerous. A dog can consume milk chocolate and appear to be fine because it is not as concentrated, but it is still dangerous.
Coffee, Coffee grounds, tea and tea bags: Drinks/foods containing caffeine cause many of the same symptoms chocolate causes
Macadamia Nuts: Macadamia nuts can cause weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis.
Animal fat and fried foods: Excessive fat can cause pancreatitis.
Bones: Bones can splinter and damage a dog’s internal organs.
Tomatoes: Tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias. Tomatoe plants and the most toxic, but tomatoes themselves are also unsafe.
Avocados: The fruit, pit and plant are all toxic. They can cause difficulty breathing and fluid accumulation in the chest, abdomen and heart
Nutmeg: Nutmeg can cause tremors, seizures and death
Apples, Cherries, Peaches and similar fruit: The seeds of these fruits contain cyanide, which is poisonous to dogs as well as humans. Unlike humans, dogs do not know to stop eating at the core/pit and easily ingest them.
Raw eggs: Raw eggs can cause salmonella poisoning in dogs. Dogs have a shorter digestive tract than humans and are not as likely to suffer from food poisoning, but it is still possible.
Salt: Excessive salt intake can cause kidney problems.

Food that most dogs can eat:
Some “human” foods are good for dogs. Most of these are healthier than the boxed treats you buy in the grocery store. . This is just a small list of examples of foods dogs can eat, not a list of every food they should eat. Dogs won’t necessarily get all the nutrients they need if they eat these foods exclusively, so check with your veterinarian if you are interested in feeding your dog a home cooked diet.
Any food that causes stomach upsets or digestive problems in your dogs should be avoided. Like people, some dogs cannot tolerate certain foods

Meats:
Meats should be boneless and it’s best if the skin is removed. I don’t consider raw meat a good idea because of the small risk of food poisoning and parasites.
Skinless, boneless chicken breast
Skinless, boneless turkey breast
Boneless fish

Vegetables:
Dogs have shorter digestive tracts than humans and cannot digest most vegetables whole or in large chunks. It’s best to put them through a food processor before giving them to your dog
Carrots
Green Beans
Lettuce
Potatoes
Yams

Grains:
Grains should not be given in large amounts or make up a large part of a dog’s diet, but these foods are generally safe in small amounts
Rice
Bread

Dairy products
Use caution with dairy products as they are high in fat and can cause pancreatitis, gas and diarrhea. Usually, nonfat plain yogurt is safe in small amounts

You can take some raw meat, cut it up and tenderize it with some veggies but the best idea would be to go to the store, a pet store or a grocery store with a large pet section and you can find all sorts of special treats for dogs. You can find online recepies for biskits or other items. Many natural human foods are dog safe, but no chocolate or really suggary foods. Dogs do like peanut butter

Hi! Hope this helps. Many foods that are just fine for us humans can be very bad for dogs. Their digestive tracts are much shorter than ours, so in most cases, human food is not physiologically appropriate for dogs. I recommend that you avoid feeding your dog any "people food" and instead, get her on a healthy, sound dog diet. This means foods made of real meat, devoid of corn, wheat, and artificial preservatives. Additionally, it's important to strictly avoid the following: chocolate, caffeine, macadamia nuts, raisins and grapes (in large quantities), mushrooms, and onions. The list goes on, so if you've discovered your dog has eaten a food you're not sure about, call your veterinarian. Click the link below for more information. Thank you!

You have so many people telling you that human foods are not safe for dogs, yet they tell you to get him doggy treats at the store! If they would not eat the doggy-treat, then the dog shouldn't eat them...Human foods are so much better than most of the crap that is in packaged dog food or dog treats that you get at the grocery store..

Dogs can safely eat most human foods that are natural..no onions, cabbage, grapes or raisins, no fatty or fried foods, only peeled potatoes, easy on the tomatoes, and use only low fat cheeses. No sugar or candy of any kind.
I'll look for a easy festive recipe and post it here in a few minutes>

You should just get dogs some dog treats. Human food contains many chemicals and preservatives that make it taste good for us, but are very harmful for animals. The best food for dogs is the type that's made just for them: DOGFOOD! If you want a special kind of birthday present, then get him an exclusive type of dogfood.

Raw human grade meat, carrots, pumpkin. My dogs love fresh freeze dried livers. Buy a small amount of chicken liver, wash under cold water and boil them for 10 minutes. Drain, slice into 1/2" pieces and put in the freezer, uncovered for 4 weeks (if you don't have 4 weeks, that's ok, do it as long as you can just make sure if he doesn't eat it all to put it back in the freezer) don't use it too often though as too much is bad for them. It's ok for them to eat frozen and they love it like that if the weather is hot.

You can buy dog chocolate, which is actually carob.

No onions, no garlic (it's toxic and gives them anaemia) no bread it can give them pancreatitis which will last forever, no chocolate, nothing with too much fat.

A good quality protein source:beef, chicken, turkey, eggs. Vegetables & fruits: pureed carrots, pumpkin, peas, etc (No onions, grapes, raisins, apple seed/cores). Some rice or pasta. Add a little canola oil, safflower oil, olive oil, Salmon oil, unsalted butter and supplements. Cottge cheese, plain yogurt.

Limit or exclude sugar, fatty foods, salt. These can cause obesity, pancreitis, liver & kidney problems.

Of course, do not feed chocolate, caffeine, alcohol.

There is a lot of info online. It helps to be more breed, size, age specific.

Usually what is good for us is good for them and bad for us is bad for them (the only exception that I know of is chocolate, it works on dogs in the same way cocaine works on humans). Maybe you might find a recipe on a meat pie and then put a candle in it (that you remove before actually serving to the dog). Should be cute and make a nice picture.

NOT SAFE: Onions, macadamia nuts, chocolate, coffee, fatty foods (things like bacon can cause pancreatitis, but I think this usually is in large amounts), grapes/raisins, alcohol, candy/nuts (stomach upset in large amounts), stems/leaves/seeds of apples, apricots and cherries. Processed foods aren't good for dogs or humans.

SAFE: Everything else. Especially good things are unseasoned meats, cheese (although dogs can be lactose intolerant too), peanut butter, baby carrots, broccoli (cooked is best), plain yogurt, frozen broth-cubes.

So why does it need "human food" for its birthday? Just give it a special DOG treat. It won't know the difference and it will be better for it.

People food is for people.
