One of the best ways to deal with constipation is to prevent it. A very healthy and easy way to do that is to incorporate pumpkin into your pet’s food. Yes, that’s right – I said PUMPKIN. The simple fact is that pumpkin is a great source of fiber and has a high water content. Both of which contribute to keeping your pet’s bowl movements regular. You’ll want to make sure that you use the pureed canned pumpkin, or you can puree your own using a fresh pumpkin. Either way however don’t buy pumpkin pie filling by mistake; it’s definitely not the same thing. The following scale will help you determine how much you should mix into every meal.
Pets who weigh less than 15 pounds = 1 – 2 teaspoons Pets who weigh 15 – 35 pounds = 1 – 2 tablespoons
Pets who weigh 35 pounds and up = 2 – 5 tablespoons depending on size
(Monitor your pet’s stool, if the consistency of the feces is pudding- like, then just cut back on the amount of pumpkin a bit.)

we have had that problem time to time in pass: what works best for us is spraying vegtable oil to soften under his tail, then sit dog in warm soapy water for several minutes. Use a soft rag to wipe it off. Can take a little patience and time. Icky but has worked. Once we found NOT to give him any kind of raw hide chew problem has not happened again. We only give him the jerky chews. More expensive but certainly beats spending a few hours trying to dig poop out of his butt! (:

How long has this been a problem? If it is the first day, don't rush off to the vet yet. (it is expensive) First make sure you dog has been drinking enough water. Also, if you feed her dry food, try going a day or two with canned.
However, if this has gone on for several days, definitely see a vet.

you can give the dog an enema of warm soapy water, i had puppies that their mother died and thats what the vet told me to do....make sure you do it in the tub or someplace easy to clean because it can get messy....make sure the water isnt to hot....it has always worked for my dogs....
the vet is going to tell you the same thing i just told you....either that or he will do it and charge you a lot of money....why not just do it yourself

you should really take it to the veterinarian so it can have a checkup. as if your dog cant poop then it may be constipated and if you don't get it a checkup the veterinarians will have to do a procedure which is totally gross so i cant tell you.

sorry, YOU KNOW WHAT "YOU" GOT TO DO!!! also you can call the pet store to find out what they can reccomend to keep her loose, if she is a poodle, you must keep that area clipped really well.good luck with a very nasty job, i'm sorry for you. but then again, you could call the vet and see if they could look after the job for you, it wil probably cost a bit.

Give her some mineral oil in her food. If that doesn't work, take her to the vet, and quickly!

You will have to remove it with a towel or Kleenex. You can give your pet flax seed oil , call your vet and see what they recommend.
