Go to pet finder.com . That's how I found my Yellow Lab. Also , try pet harbor.com , and your local humane society.

Look on the internet for Golden rescue and Greyhound rescue (there are both in Wisconsin), they will give you the animal's profile, including health history and any special needs. They may require references to adopt a dog, such as statements from friends, your vet, etc. It's well worth it though, I've adopted both labradors and whippets this way, and have been very happy. They are typically adult dogs though, especially the greyhounds.

go to the nearest humane society and check there first.

if you cant find one or they cant find one for you, then go to pet finders. com and see what they come up with.

call around and you might have to talk to some breeders. sometimes they have a couple that arent colored right or have a patch of another color that they arent supposed to have that the breeder cant sell to a pet store. and the breeder might be willing to go cheap on a booper..
