Easy method?

1) Crate train her.
2) train with the bell
3) if she goes in the house or crate, clean appropriately.

Long version:

Buy one big enough for when she's an adult.

Section it off when she's young. Just enough room to turn around in and lay down.

USUALLY they will not poo or pee in their own turf that is so close like that. It's similar to rubbing their nose in it.. but they usually won't do it in the first place if they know it'll be right there to step in.

How often? General rule.. poo/pee. If a puppy is 1 mo. old, it can only hold it for maybe 2 hours. 3 mo. 4 hours, 5 mo. 6 hours. So for every month old they are.. add one, and that's how many hours in-between sessions.

Some dogs require more. some less.

CRATE TRAINING:

If you bring the dog out, and it doesn't go.. bring it right back in the house,.. in the crate.

If it does go.. say "yes" as soon as she does it... then play with her.. give her lots of hugs and kisses.. maybe even a treat.. bring her in the house and let her play in a confined area i.e. kitchen for 10 - 20 minutes. Then back in the crate.. give her a treat in the crate for being good.. and repeat over and over and over and over ;)

In your case.. if she goes pee and not poo.. you know how often she goes poo.. it's also easier to catch in the act.. but for the beginning.. it'd only let her out to play after she goes poo.. otherwise.. maybe just five minutes of super supervised play, then back in the crate.

A crate is not cruel. It's a den for them. Our dog LOVES her crate. Makes easy for going to the vet.. also gives them a safe place to sleep at night. She goes in on her own.

http://pa.4biz.us is our web site.. maybe some day we'll put up some puppy training tips on it :)

THE BELL:

Hang a bell near the door that she goes out. Ring it when you take her out to go potty. Eventually she will ring it to let you know she needs to go.

Yes, eventually you want it on your time schedule.. but when they're puppies, tiz on theirs unless you want problems.

CLEANING APPROPRIATELY:

Use 'nature's best' .. white bottle., red cap. or 20:1 water:vinegar. NEVER USE AMMONIA. Never let the dog watch you clean up the mess. Have it in another area while you clean up.

Could you tell me if she is a puppy? My guess she is a puppy. Now being a puppy and have had beagles before. Beagles like to use their nose. So if you have a fenced in area or can make an area where she can be fenced in and left alone to snoop around that area with out you watching for longer amount of time. She will start doing her poo outside. I am not sure why some beagles do this. I think it is a natural instinct with in them to have time to themselves. Also I would recommend crate training while young. So when she is not being played with and is unattended to in your home. Be either at work etc. She is crated so she will not do her business in her home.

Kind Regards,

Is your Beagle paper trained? If so, place some outside on patio out back. Offer praise when she goes on the paper! Was she raised on concrete? Sometimes when breeders have a lot of liters they will raise the whole group in a specific place, like a backyard area that has concrete. 10 min out side to go poop is not enough time. Dogs take up to an hour to go poop. I have 3, they go outside in the Am, first thing they sniff the yard to see if critters came in at night, then they get a drink of water, go #1, then back to the food bowl for breakfast, stretch, go for a run around the yard and 30 minutes into the Am routine the go poop.

When she poops in the house, take some news paper and pick it yup, put the newspaper w/poop outside. Don't YELL Or Hit your dog over the poop in the house. Use a stern voice and a rolled up newspaper. Smack the ground and say "NO" like you mean it.

Then use a sweet voice and take pup outside show her the poop and the paper and say "Go here outside" or something similar.

Worked for me! When my pup knows I'm upset with him I say "Sam Noooo" he hangs his head and flattens his ears. Its comical, but he gets the picture.

NEVER EVER do crate training. Its not good for your pup-owner relationship.

Good Luck!

Potty training should start right away. It is easier to train then it is to re train. These potty training tips can be used for
any aged dog and should always be started from the beggining and advance only as fast as the dog or puppy allows you
to. If there is an accident, take two steps backwards and continue at a slower pace.

I highly reccomend crate training. This works with the dogs natural instinct not to want to soil her area or den. Crate
training isn't cruel, it's by far the oppisisite. Denning is natural for dogs and it gives a secure place. Many dogs continue to
use the crate thru out their lifes as a sleeping or resting area. It should be off limits to kids and toehrs and be a happy place.
For more on crate training see the above links.

Pooch will need to go out always after sleeping, playing, eating and before bedtime. Take pup out to the place you want
him to use. Give him about 5 minutes and stay with him. If she goes, praise, treat and have a quick playtime. If she doesn't
go it's straight back into the crate or tehtered to you by a leash.

The playtime after the potty time is very important. This teaches the pup that potty doesn't equal straight back into the
house. And the tether to you is also important, it helps you supervise the puppy while your in the house. It's much easier to
show the puppy how to be good, rather then get mad at the pup when bad.

Always ignore the accidents. They are going to happen. If you catch the accident just say nope, outside. and take
pooch outside. If you do not catch the pup in the act then just clean up the mess and make a note that pup needs to go
out sooner next time. Use something with an enzyme cleaner in it like Natures Miricle for clean ups. This also works on other
stains as well.

It's also important to take pup out about every 20 minutes until you get a feel for his schedule. Adjust accordiong to the
pup. As well as setting an alarm clock for the wee morning hours, say 2AM to take pup out. If there is an accident when you
wake up for this then you know to set the time sooner. Also if there is still an accident when you get up you will know
another wake up call is in order. Again, you can adjust these times according to how you pooch advances. Stay consistant
and soon you will have a good pooch slleping thru the night.

I have a beagle too. Beagles tend to not bark much. When you take your dog out it normally takes a while for it to go poo. And last dog reall have to use the bathroom every 3 hours or so.

Be patient, it takes a while to be knowledgeable. Be steady the place the puppie has to pee (reward everytime he does it appropriately) and when an accident happens purchase a product to take the scent and make him do it once more. A buddy told me that you have got to depend how many months is how could hours they are able to preserve the pee earlier than an accident, so the walks aid lots. The rewards work more than any punishment, so make a tremendous party or say "just right canine" everytime he do something proper, and when a mistake say firmly "No" or "bad dog", also clarify "No poo within the condominium" if every body uses the same words it helps lots, for him to style of memorize the orders (and behave everywhere at anytime) have enjoyable with the domestic dogs :)

Hi,

I have a beagle too.
When I got her she was not trained very well either.
She was 2 years old and very nervous around people and loud noises.
I never recommend crate training because the dog will think it is not loved.
Please be patient with the dog. You must take him or her for long walks regularly and praise them when they do go outside.
It takes time and patient above all else and never hit the dog, it will just be afraid of you.
Good Luck

Be sufferer, it takes a while to be proficient. Be constant in which the puppie has to pee (present everytime he does it competently) and whilst an coincidence occurs purchase a product to take the odor and make him do it once more. A buddy instructed me that you simply need to rely what number of months is how would possibly hours they are able to preserve the pee earlier than an coincidence, so the walks aid plenty. the rewards paintings greater than any punishment, so make a big celebration or say "Good puppy" everytime he do anything proper, and whilst a mistake say firmly "No" or "Bad puppy", additionally explain "No poo within the condominium" if everyone makes use of the identical phrases it is helping plenty, for him to form of memorize the orders (and behave in all places at whenever) have amusing with the dogs :)

crate training is best, but if you, for some reason, choose not to crate train, try attaching the dog to you with a leash while you are home so it is always near you so you can see when it is getting ready to poop and you grab it up as soon as it squats and race outside with it and walk it around till it does poop. also put poop you have picked up outside so it will see/smell it and know that is where poop belongs and make sure you clean up and poop sites in the home WELL, dont just pick it up CLEAN the place cuz it can leave nasty residue that the dog can smell and they will think home is still where poop belongs. good luck to ya with your training.
