It is very common for Australian sheperds to have white hair, I have one, he was all black when we got him but as time went on he got more white, now he is black and white. This is very common. Most dogs coats change as they out grow there puppy stages in life.

Poodles are prone to early "gray hairs". This is actually quite normal. If this is bothersome to you, ask your groomer to use a shampoo designed for darker haired dogs. The gray will soon be hidden!

It has to do with the dog food.My sister has a black shitzu and I asked why she has alot of grey and white hair. She told me it was because of the food she feeds her.The expensive food will give your dog a nice sheen on her coat. But you should go to a pet supply food store and ask them. They will tell you the correct food for your dog, but it will be more expensive.

It may be something to do with the breed. My sister has a 6 month old yorkie and he's getting white all over.

australian shepards are know for white splotches on those areas....after they are fully colored, it tends to look awfully cute! don't worry, your puppy isn't getting "old". My friend has a pure australian shepard and she was brown at birth and now she's black white and brown. your puppy is just getting her adult fur coloring. Have fun seeing your baby grow up ;)

she's in a growth stage of becoming an adult (by age 1). Sheps have an undercoat and its just coming out, that's all. Nothing to worry about.

Oh that's totally normal. Mixed breeds will often change color totally before age two... Enjoy your puppy.
