Dogs - July 2006

The night before my puppy was sick and was throwing up, so the next morning i took her to the vet. The vet said everything was fine that she just had an upper respitory infection and i bought her antibiotics. The next day she wasn't getting any better she was just lying down all day. That night she cried like she was having pain in her stomach and she was slowly getting stiff. I was going to take her back to the vet but she died that night. How could the vet say she was okay but she died the next day? What do you think could have happened? The poor dog suffered all night till she died:(

I have to chihuahuas and they are both male. One day when i has in my back yard i heard a sharp yap and i turned around and i saw something horrible. My chihuahua was humping my other chihuahua. The next day i decided to buy a female chihuahua and i brought her home i introduced the dogs to one another and they just ignored her. WHAT SHOULD I DOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 2 dogs just started having sex, so since my male dog is novice at it I was thinkng that's why they get stuck. But it's weird because they stuck while facing away from each other, as if they were stuck from their behinds.

I am from Lawton, OK. My neighbor has 3 dogs which I feel are being neglected. I have seen them kick the dogs. The dogs get out everyday. I am an animal lover. It kills me because I cant do much about it. I have called the animal welfare, police, neighborhood services, and still nothing. The oldest dog is a female pitbull and she is a very good dog. She is not aggressive, with people or other dogs. The other 2 are younger male pitbulls. One of them needs serious medical attention. He is almost completely bald, covered with scabs. I give them water everyday. I would have already taken them if I didnt have 3 dogs of my own. If anyone is from this area, the address where the dogs are is 2513 sw 'I' ave.

my chesapeake bay retriever was clocked at 30 mph running down the dock at splash dog event. This does not seem possible. They were using a radar gun.

I have a 6month old dog named Charlie, but he is starting to get annoying. He chews everything in sight and I don't know what to do. I have twoother dogs Luckey and Sasha and they never did anything like this, and neither did my dog Tex who passed away a one or two years ago. I have no idea what to do with him, it seems that this problem is getting worse. He chews anything he can get and he can get stuff off tables now. He's chewed up slippers, stuffed animals, books, pens, paper, pencils, and much more. I feel if I don't do something quick he's going to chew something dangerous that could kill him or seriously get out. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he was a great and lovable dog but when he turned 6 months i got him these steak tricks and i think he got sort of aggresive when i would only give him 3 a day(it said that he was only to have 3 a doy on the bag). he would jump up and bite my hands like if i still have some.he often now bites me. it doesn't reay hurt so i guess you can call it a nible. i don't know what to do. i can't go feed him without being bit. i'm afraid my dad might want to give him away. is there anything i can do?? he is only aggresive to me not to anyone else. he listens to anyone else but me. i have stop taking him on walks because of how he acts with me. i can no longer control him. i also think he is playing sometimes. i don't want him to do that. any advice??? help please!!

she is a pug, so she inherently has breathing problems.. but how can i tell if its an asthma attack or just her coughing or something else normal?

I know it sounds funny, and people makes jokes cause he's still squatting to pee. My boyfriend says he learns it from an older male dog, but he has been around them and either doesn't watch them lift their leg, or just doesn't care... is this really a learned trait or is he going to forever be made fun of? The thing is, when my little girl Rylee pees, her butt is almost on the ground, but when Bailey goes, he just kind of bends his legs.... just a silly question, but I'm very curious! Thank you

She's 7 months old and has a good-sized yard. She also has access to the porch. I feed her on the porch and yet, she still prefers to pee and crap on the porch. She hasn't ALWAYS done this, but started after a day's worth of rain, when I guess she didn't want to get her feet wet. But now she KEEPS using the porch, and sleeps in the yard!! WHAT can I do?? I even put NEW rugs on the porch, and she craps on them!

I have a 6 month old lab/Sheperd her name is Honey, and in a couple of weeks we will be getting a full blooded Sheperd who they call Brandy. Brandy is a good name but i want to change her name when we get her she does not respond to the name Brandy anyway. Can somebody help me find a good name that will also go good with Honey. I want their names to be somewhat the same i don't know what do you think. What would you do?Name them something totally different or keep it in the same field? Please Help:)

I feed my shih tzu left over bones and some rice and stuff like that and sometimes i wonder if some type of food might give him a disease or get him sick.
