Brush it's teeth.
If it is really bad, you may have to have the teeth cleaned by the vet. After that though, you still need to brush the dog's teeth to keep them nice and keep the bad breath away.

Make a dental appointment for your dog with the vet, they will give him a tongue scraping and make sure no teeth are rotten or abcessed. Between dentals use greenies, mints, or dental wipes. If your dog is small, know that most small breeds don't produce enough saliva-so their breath can get quite stinky!! (constant moring breath)

Your dog may need a dental to free its mouth of horrible bacteria and tartar. Have a dental exam done by a veterinarian, to find out more. Brushing alone will not rid the tartar, just like you have to visit the dentist for teeth cleanings every 6 months to get rid of your tartar.
Dental health is a VERY neglected area of pet health and having good teeth will extend your pets life.

Doggie breath mints work for temporary relief. Make sure the dogs are getting dry food and treats because they clean their teeth. If it is really bad you can take them to the vet and have them cleaned.

Brush his teeth with an old tooth brush, feed him breath mints every now and then (the oranges ones r the best to use), and if neither one of those works go to the vet to see if he has any ideas.

You should probably take it to the vet. I took my cat in for bad breath and found out that she had ulcers in her mouth and throat. Possibly caused by an infected tooth. She had to have her teeth cleaned, a steroid shot, an antibiotic shot, and two rounds of oral antibiotics before it all cleared up.

a lot of time Dogs have bad breath do to their Diet. Feeding them a quality food will cut down on that. If you are unsure what food to feed, please visit your vet for their suggestions. Also getting treats for breath freshing, brushing your dogs teeth and tongue on a daily basis and their are also products you can ad to your pets water such as Spa Dog Natural Breath Care, you can ad a drop to your dogs water or directly on its tongue. Also please be sure to have your pets teeth professionally cleaned on a yearly basis.

Having his teath cleaned once a year will help. You can also try CET Chews (sold at your local vet) which are a chew that contains enzymes to help clean their teeth and reduce the odor. If he will let you, try brushing his teeth with special dog tooth paste and toothbrush (sold at pet stores and your vet). Also, his anal glands may be full. I know that sounds strange, but if they are full and he licks his rear, his anal glands will express in his mouth causing a VERY foul odor! Good Luck!
