My girlfriends family is from a rural town, where they seem to find it accepable to do thier own for of population control(they shoot the animals) just two days ago her grandmother shot a mother dog and three puppies, b/c she figured thier are to many animals around here, and she drowned like 20 kittens over the last year. I am absolutly disgusted, and If I had a way to prove it, I would turn her into the cops for animal cruelty, but I cant find proof, and I know my gf would be mad at me... I have approched the subject with them and no one sees a problem with it. The shelters are over crowded, and it is cheaper to shoot them or drown then, then to have them humanely Euthanized, or even be nuetered... What do I do, This has me all upset and in shambles.. but I dont think that the police would do anythign even if I went to them, there are only like 5 cops in the whole town.

I have a 20 week old German shorthaired pointer cross Rottweiller, he chew's absolutely everything in his path, he pulls my washing off the line and chews that, digs my plants and chews them, my Golden Retriever was never like this, although he did chew, as most puppies do, he was never this bad, Harley my cross Rotti is adorable but doing my head in, I need to try to stop him, please please can any body help me. I have tried all the conventional things, like telling him off and smacking his nose showing him what he has done at the time, I have tried puting him in the fruit garden away from Jamba my Retriever to try to teach him, but nothing seems to be working, although he is beggining to realise he is doing wrong now (1st step in the right direction) but he still does these things, and please dont tell me he will grow out of it, I know he will but there must be something I can do to try and get him out of it rather than wait for him to grow out of it, HELP!!!!!!!!!

My dog that I've had for 16 years just passed away. I knew it was coming, and thought I would handle it fine. But, I'm not fine and it hurt a lot. I feel like a wuss. Everybody loved my dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Charlene (Charlie for short). People say it's just a dog, but she was really like my best friend. I couldn't handle getting another dog, at least not for awhile, but how do I get myself under control here?

I have a 3 yr old Black Lab that started scraching about 4 months ago. We have spent a fortune between the 2 doctors we are seeing (one is an allergy specialist) getting allergy testing done, fixing ripped ears with surgery, antibotics for the infections, shots, creams, food trials, shampoos, and pills. NOTHING has helped. We checked for mange 4 seperate times (they came out neg.) and have had someone come out and inspect the house for fleas (neg. also). My 2 other dogs are not having the same problems. He is now living in a e-collar and is miserable because he can't itch. My husband and I don't want to put him to sleep, but we have run out of options. PLEASE any suggestions at this point would help!!

I have a boxer female and I am bringing home her new man in 2 wks. What is the best way to introduce them. My present boxer is 3 yrs old. She is such a good girl. Just loves everybody and everything. I have been going to see the puppy quite regular. So I feel she is sort of getting used to the sent.

Actually, I just have puppies. The mom have 1 baby, and we take care of them so much. We bless them with food everyday, and take them out to play. Yep that's wat it's like having puppies.

My bf brought home a dog he knew we couldn't take care of. Now it's sick and I think it might be dying from parvo. This could be the dog's last night (couldn't get a vet til morning). I want to make it comfortable. The question? Should I allow the dog to sleep with me? It's been vomitting the past couple of nights and while I don't want to be puked all over, I want to give it some comfort. What would you do?

my dog is about 59 days in. the thing is i cant remember what temperature? is it supposed to be 98 degrees and then the puppies should be expecteed?
also why am i hearing from one website they last 63 days another website 71 days?? anyone have a pregnant dog or give birth??

what is the birthing temperature like 98 degrees shell have them within 48 hours?

she isnt acting strange, shes eating great, hers nipples are not producing any milk yet, no discharge.

this is my 3rd dog birth and im scared because this is her 1st litter
