Her dog Molly was SO special - I just want to honor the bond they shared... I thought about an Animal Shelter donation but - that just won't work in this case... any more ideas ?

When my dad's dog died, I found the best picture I could and framed it for him. It still sits on the fireplace today - 8 years later. Something as simple as that can be a comfort. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about the dog, and your aunt.

Did Molly and the lady enjoy the outdoors? Consider planting a tree or shrub or some flowers. Do you have any pictures of the dog? Consider making a collage.

Or perhaps just come over some day with some tea and cookies: A gesture like that is wonderfully comforting.

Keep her busy. She likes dogs, so get her another dog! When my girl dog died, I spent the next two months sitting in front of the computer with my boy dog, looking for another girl dog and I ended up adopting two. Sure I still miss my other girl, but keeping busy looking for these two and now running around with all three has helped alot. An obligated period of lonely grieving is not necessary. I don't know who started that one.

Your aunt can grieve all by herself without another dog, or grieve with another companion. For dog and pet lovers, there is nothing more comforting than a pet companion. Get her another dog to help her through this time and to be her new friend. She will be so relieved.

I truly understand the pain your aunt is going through. I just lost my dog Daisy last week and I'm so empty without her! The best thing you can do is be there for her, visit her, take her out to dinner or a movie! Don't get her another dog just yet since she is still in pain. Just support her and maybe later you can buy her a new puppy!

Rotten has the right concept. Animals provide unconditional love, friendship, and a experience of purpose to those who in the different case have none. My ideal suggestion is once you write the cardboard do not imagine of it as an animal demise yet someone's' ideal chum. even as Jesse died purely the undeniable reality that someone cared adequate to deliver a card about her passing became awesome. someone realized that Jesse became a wide area of our lives no longer a lamp that were given dropped and became thrown out contained in the garbage. It took us a 365 days to get over Jesse adequate to get yet another Lab. I nevertheless watch videos of and cry. Your aunt is grieving as a lot now as if a human chum died, perchance better in case your aunt lived on my own with purely the now deceased puppy. bypass OVERBOARD contained in the cardboard. it is going to propose alot on your aunt. believe ME

I am so sorry, it is like loosing one of the family. I love my dog Buckey and I would cry my eyes out if
anything happened to him. I think I would get another dog not to take his place, because I feel the dog that died could never be replaced, because each has their own personality. A new dog would help fill the void and give new joy.

Send flowers. Show that you care and are supportive of her. There isn't alot you can do to relieve the pain, but you can still be supportive to help her through this trying time. Find a place that makes trophies and have a trophy made in the shape of Molly and have it inscribed "In loving memory". That is a good one too. Good luck.

I no when my animals passed on i like doing something to help other animals, so maybe bring her to an animal shelter to help and to look for a new pet. Hope i helped and good luck.

No offense to anyone intended, but the decision to get another dog has to be your aunt's.

I know very well how much you want to comfort her, so please keep in mind that your concern does mean so very much. Letting her feel sorrow in a caring relationship will help heal her heart more than she will ever be able to tell you.
