Epilepsy, severe liver disease, toxicosis, meningitis (bacterial, viral, and fungal), brain tumor, and hydrocephalus (water on the brain) are a few differentials. Bloodwork and an exam would be a start to ruling out the problems and getting down to a diagnosis. There are some very cheap and effective mediactions for epilepsy management.

Most of the above and vaccinations can cause seizures. I have a dog who was having 4 seizures a yr. I stopped all her vaccs 3 1/2 yrs ago. She is only having 2 seizures a yr now. Read the Wisconsin University weblinks

I hate 2 say it but a brain tumor can cause seizures. I have seen in in young and old dogs, the vet will just do a blood test and a cat scan to help determine.

Some dogs have a part of there brain that don't function right so they have seizure's, my dog has them, you can put them on Phenobarbital from your vet if they still have break through seizure's you can put them on Potassium bro mite too, you need to take it to the vet & have a blood test ran, Every time it has a siezure it loses a little brain function. GOOD LUCK

Brain tumors or brain damage could cause this as well, but only your vet can be sure. I has to be something affecting the brain, so possibilities are somewhat limited.
