I have been debating purchasing a chihuawa yet I live in an apartment so it would be inconvenient to walk it 4 times a day, I was wondering if it is easy to train a small dog to use the litterbox or if this is nearly impossible to do ..plz help

Our family has had a pit bull for over a year. We got him from thehumane society after watching a documentary on how these breed is unfairly prejudiced against because of all the bad media, when in all actuality many dogs do bite, attack, become jealous, etc. depending on their upbringing.
This dog is very well behaved, doesn't bark, always on someone's lap or at their feet, when other dogs come up to him...his reaction is to sit or is afraid of them even if they are little dogs. I have never sen anything but a kind and loving dog. And he was in a shelter for over a year. The reasoning being that he loved little children and would sometimes jump on them. ( tddlers were in the home)
His only fault is that he DIGS! We walk him in the morning, at night and usually take him to a park to run. He has a variety of toys...etc. But as soon as we leave the yard he digs a hole.
Two questions:
Anyone else have a pit that is gentle and tame?
How to stop him from digging?

Would you report anyone who has a puppy mill? And do you think these puppy mills need to be shut down. I think everyone needs to be educated about them and help these poor animals out.....

He is the most mellow animal i ever met and also the most friendly dog and obiedent. I was walking him one day and btw he is massive, and we got attacked by a german shepard that my *** neighbor keeps letting out her front door and i told my dog just to sit because i wanted to avoid blood shed and he did. He took every bite that other dog gave. Now i know my dog would of destroyed this other dog but i felt my dog would of been discriminated against so i did not want that. My question is are they a bad breed or do people make them that way?

When we open the door to get outside, he runs out before we can grab him. He will turn around and then he'll start running into peoples yards and everything. Sometimes it actually takes him a long time to grab him. When we get him we spank his little nose and tell him sit stay sit stay, but it never works because he keeps doing it. What do I do??
