I have been debating purchasing a chihuawa yet I live in an apartment so it would be inconvenient to walk it 4 times a day, I was wondering if it is easy to train a small dog to use the litterbox or if this is nearly impossible to do ..plz help

Yes they can. I got my chihuahua/Yorkie mix two days before Christmas, she was only 1.5 lbs and too small to go outside, so I got her a litter box with puppy litter and shredded newspaper. When she started to look like she had to go Id put her in her box and praise her when she went. She was trained in four days. Now that it's summer she will do both, go outside on her walks and use her litter box if there is no one around to let her out. I hope that's helpful.

If it can be a bother to take your canine out on the grounds that you continue to exist a rather high degree in your apartment then either teach them with a litter field (good luck!) or a potty pad...Are pads you tape to the wall and they are able to simply go on those. However make sure you tell them not to go wherever else in the apartment/apartment. Additionally which you could rescue an older dog with a smaller rate that's already knowledgeable and you could be doing something good!! However if you wish to get a dog i might propose a good sized dog. To not small! Maybe a pomeranian? Excellent good fortune along with your new dog:)

why dont you build small atires with a platform at the top.drill a hole the size of dofs but in it and place over the toilet. the dog can walk up the staires and go in the toilet! no mess to clean up, just flush!

yes they can mine is like when my dog was born they put newspaper all over the house and they got used to the smell then every time they smelled it they went on the newspaper

they have dog litter now!and its treated with chemicals that smell like where they usually go!it no harder than house breaking,paper training ,puppy pad training or any other kinds!you can fing dog litter at pet specialty stores like petco,etc.
