I'd say they like the wind and the smells in the air. And the view. Have you ever seen a dog in the back of a pick up truck? It will run from side to side constantly. It's like they're afraid they'll miss seeing something. lol It just cracks me up.

Actually the only way a dog can get cool is the air moving across their tongue, so it is to get cool.

I heard somewhere they do that because the pressure and the scents in the air give them a high. How true that is, I don't know.
