Ok, I don't really know what my cat, Mia, has. She's alittle bit above 3 years old, and she used to be an indoor cat living with my siser. Now, when she moved in with me, she goes outside all the time. Since I have a backyard, who knows what's out there. One day, when I was just looking at my cat, I see little, red things on her ear. I don't know what they are though, but I think they're little animals or fleece, lice, or whatever. I don't know. I took one out, and it was a bug; a small animal...a small red little bug. I don't know what they are...but can anyone help me what this is? They're quite numerous around her ear...and this is where I see them. I don't know if they're throughout her body, but I've just seen them around her ear. I'm going to take her to the vet next weekend, but first I just wanted to know if she'll be alright, or if there's any cure for it, etc.
Help me. Thanks.

We have been looking after the kittens for about 16 days....so we think they must be about 18 days old now. They were doing very well until this morning...they are being bottle fed with kitten formula but the vet said that when this ran out to use baby milk instead...he gave us the brand name so we gave them some last night and they drank it all but this morning they wouldnt drink very much of it so we bought some more kitten formula...now they dont even want much of this (were drinking at least 10-15ml now only taking about 5ml) They do have the runs so Im just hoping they just dont feel like eating because of this. Any advise please as getting worried that we may lose them if they dont start eating more.

It seems everybody wants a picture of their stupid cat as their personal 'avatar'. It has long been known that there is a direct correlation between cat ownership and low intelligence - maybe this is the answer.?? We just don't know.

Have any of you ever had to have a cat put to sleep? I did several years ago...an 18 month old Himalayan that I rescued from my other cat's vet after he was attacked by a pack of dogs and bitten all over his butt, back and hind legs. He looked so pitiful in the back of a cage, shaved and stitched up that I just fell in love with him and took him home. He was about 6 months old at the time. When he was 18 months old (name was Harley), he got sick and I took him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with FIP. There is no cure for it and the treatment is very expensive and rarely sucessful. I took Harley home for one more night where I said goodbye to him. The next day, I left work early, went home, took Harley back to the vet and he was euthanized. I stayed with him, holding him in my arms as he died. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried the whole time. He was so young...he should have lived a long and happy life. I kept his collar and favorite toy.

My cat just now came out from under the bed following a thunder storm. Normally, this cat is fearless. Thunder, on the other hand, scares the hell out of her. She's gone...under the bed...and won't come out until she thinks it's safe. One crack of thunder and she hauls ***.

Can cats be broken of phobias? Obviously, hers are thunder storms. I have never had a cat in my life that was so scared of them. She comes out from under the bed wanting to cuddle and curl up beside me. She's next to me right now, purring but still shaking.

Does anyone else have a cat that has a phobia (other than the norm...dogs, whatever)? I have never seen a cat with such a strong reaction to storms.

She's a 15 year old Himalayan, by the way.

Will Dawn hurt my cats if I wash them with it? I heard that it gets rid of flees on them, and I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this?

Hi all,
My partner and I live with our 1yr old female russian blue cat. We currently rent, and are not interested in buying. We have lived together in a townhouse for two years, with a perfect rental record, and have stable incomes.

NOW- here's the problem.

The owner has decided he wants to move back in to our current rental property. With only 6wks left, we have been searching in our local area for rental places & have so far been knocked back on 10 applications for no other reason than we own a cat. We are starting to get desperate now, as in 6wks we will be homeless.

Up until this point we have been completely honest and always listed our cat's details on the application forms however with the response we have gotten thus far, we think perhaps NOT telling about the cat would be a better idea.
I've heard many things can happen, from nothing at all to being kicked out and blacklisted. Does anyone know where I can find actual info? Or do you know youself?

Thanks v much!

He is 5 years old, a siamese, neutered, healthy (goes to the vet once a year), and I am very consciencious and careful about his health. I would have him on a leash (harness) and be with him the whole time. The only thing I'm a little bit worried about is identification (microchip???? good/bad??) and enjoyment. What if he likes it so much that he tries to sneak out in the summer if we accidently leave the door a little bit open? THose are my concerns. We live in the midwest and near a train, but that's not a big deal. Any feedback would be very helpful!!! THANK you :)

We have two cats. One will eat anything we eat (or acts like he will), while the other shows interest only in beef jerky and, of all things, fruit. He likes licking the flesh of peaches, apples, etc. and will do so as long as I will hold it for him. We rarely let him do it... our other cat doesn't do this. Is this okay for him?

She just grabbed a loaf of traditional Moroccan bread off the table and ate a few large bites. She's now purring happily. I have never seen this, not even in street cats.
