She just grabbed a loaf of traditional Moroccan bread off the table and ate a few large bites. She's now purring happily. I have never seen this, not even in street cats.

LOL! My sweet Gracie Lou who passed away a year and a half ago at the age of 16 love to steal bread! If I gave it to her she wouldn't eat it. I had to keep my bread in the refrigerator. LOL you posting brought memories of her. I just love cats. They are sweet and silly little animals.Gracie even ate cranberry sauce one thanksgiving. Ha ha!

I have to keep any loaf of bread I buy in the cabinet because my cat will tear through the plastic and start eating the bread. She once ate the whole middle out of a brand new loaf. I think it's normal!
My friend's cat likes to eat watermelon. Go figure!

I really don't think bread is bad for cats. One of my cats loves to eat bread and I let her have it whenever she wants it. She's almost 17 years old and very healthy, and been eating it since she was a year old, so how bad could it be.

I used to have a cat and he loved bread. I had to buy a breadbox because of him, something I never really cared about having before. We now have a little dog we took in, he was a stray. The day he wandered to our house, he was eating dried bread I threw outside for the birds and squirrels! He loves bread also.

Just experimented with my cat. She will chase lumps of bread if I throw them high enough but no eating activity going on. Do Moroccans make bread with catnip perchance?

Yes. My cats love bread, mayo, and I almost lost my life over a piece of my mom's home made nut bread.

sounds pretty normal, i once had a kitty that would tear into any bread package left on the counter or table and not put away in a closed bread box or cabinet. she got a little fat, but other than that it didn't hurt her.

One of my cats loves toast. Of course she will eat just about anything, chips, bread, poptarts lol. Not that I give her all this but she does like to sneak them off of my plate!
