My 6 year old male cat is just recovering from a bad urinary infection that left him in the vets on a catheter for 3 days and on antibiotics for a fortnight, plus a muscle relaxant (Dantrium) and what appears to be an antihypertensive (Hypovase). Fingers crossed he's on the mend.

The nurse recommended a special diet saying that he used it for all his three cats as it keeps the urine from gathering at the bottom of the bladder where it's more likely to form crystals & thus blockages.

Does anybody have any experience of feeding their cats on this sort of diet? Is it worth the extra ££?

I have a very old cat and a young UNspayed kitten who has just come into season, we don't let her out as she is a pedigree. I was quite shocked to see my old tom cat mating with her.. I thought his sexual urges would have been long gone by now, especially as he was neutered at an early age. Will he be ok, he has bad arthuritis in his legs!

My cat had kittens about 3 weeks ago. They've all, but one, opened their eyes. The one's eyes are still crusted over. I've wiped them all the best I could with warm water, and they started pussing out, too. I really can't afford to go the vet right now, so does anyone have any simple home remedies I might be able to try?

She has thrown up like watery puddles off and on since yesterday. She is distant from the others but drinking water. She is walking from room to room. Shall I wait a little longer to see if she eats? No diarrhea! All my other cats are fine.

I have always been a cat lover. Recently, I have been doing some investigational work into what you might call "cat psychology". Am wondering what meaning or significance there is or means when a very affectionate cat decides to crawl up on you and proceeds to groom themselves? Is it a sign of extreme love or contentment? Is a primevil sign of conquest, or is it just a very loving cat deciding that it is time to take a bath..LOL Please help as this behavior is making me "cat crazy" Thanks, Fred

I have a 4 year old cat that I adopted 2 years ago. The first year he was fine. Only in the last couple of months Denver came down with some serious urinary tract infections. He also started attacking my boyfriend BRUTALLY during the time he started getting sick. I'm talking wrapping his legs around his leg and scratching and biting. Often he eve drew blood. My boyfriend does not live with me but had been around more often in the past and Denver was very nice to him....even nicer than he was to me at the time. He NEVER hurts me or any of my other female roommates. What can I do to stop Den from attacking my boyfriend? as we are going to be moving in together soon and I don't want my boyfriend to be afriad of my cat....he REALLLLY hurts him!

My boyfriend and I are about to get a kitten, I was wondering what the costs are to get them declawed and is it considered "animal cruelty" to do so?

Serious answers only, anything else and I will report abuse. Thanks.

I adapted a cat yesterday. But, she has been hiding since I took her home. She never eat, drink water, and use bathroom. Is she OK? She's staying under drawer, and never comes out.

we got my 9 month old male cat neutered and declawed about a week ago and since then he has been attacking me (well the first time i dropped something on his pawl) but one morning he just came at me after i pet him. now i am terrified of him because i actually had to go to the hospital after the 3rd attack. i know that he might be mad but he doesnt attack anyone else and the attacks started a couple of days before i even took him to the vet. Why would he be doing that hes never even hissed at me before..

My main coon cat has had a acne on his chin. Vet said to not worry, but the area has expanded. He also has clear eye discharge from one eye that we have treated for ulcer, but there is no visiable sign (I was able to see it) now. Also, I will alert you to misdiagnosis of eye problem. Regular Vet prescribed on treatment, wouldn't wait 5 minutes to re-examine when I knew he was wrong. Emergency clinic figured it out.
Thanks for any suggestions.
