She is 8 months old. I rescued her from the APL Saturday. SHE IS SIMPLY ADORABLE. I can't think of a really cool name for her. My teen sons want to name her Vindezue ( vin- dee- zoo). I am not crazy about that name especially for a girl. My husband says LP (don't ask). HELP!

I work a 9 to 5 job which means I am out of the house from 8am to around 6.30pm each weekday. Would it be wrong to get a cat? I would rather have an indoor cat. I would really love the company as I live alone, but I don't want to end up giving a cat an improper home.

i've tried purina cat chow and indoor formula but he is still throwing up, i only have him and another American white shorthair, he's about 3 years old, what kind of food should i be feeding him? he is healthy and happy but throws up his food once every 2 weeks at least

I adopted a four-month old tuxedo female a little over a week ago, extremely sweet, loves to cuddle, constantly purrs, gold eyes, already gets along great with my male (and my female is getting over having a younger sibling), just a beautiful, loving little girl. She's nearly identical (in looks and personality) to a tuxedo female I lost in surgery last year (her looks were obvious, but how much she acts like Nimmy is scary), so I'm having a terrible time figuring out her name! She was Pandora (Panda) for most of last week, but it really doesn't suit her. I'm looking for something cute, fun, and unique. She's a very chatty little one with a high voice and follows me all over the apartment, if that sparks any ideas. Please help!!! I'm really stuck!!! Anyone??

Over the summer of last year, my family and I saw cat coming around our yard with its kitten. After a while the kitten was the only cat showing up. It would come to our door so we would put food out for it and it would eat it. A few months went by and the cat would come sometimes and sometime it wouldnt. It dissapeared for a while and then recently came back. We felt bad for it and let it in since it is very cold outside. But now the cat will not eat anything. It actually starting not eating the food we left out for it, even if it was cat food. It would go over, eat a little and then leave. Now thats its at home with us, it wont eat or drink. I just sits there or will walk around a little. What do you suggest for us to do? We dont want to be stuck with a big vet bill if we take it there.

my cat is about 9 months old and she has this white worm thing comes from her bottom. im in canada and would like to know whats the best thing i can get over the counter for her?? i was told tea tree oil works. i have some all natural product for worms but doesnt seem to work!! please help

Very large and very, very strong male cat who was bathed only once in past (after the mud-pit fight with Black Bart). Cat is now much stronger and bigger. Unbelievable male claws. Never talks much but will groan loudly at slightest prospect of bath, or even water he might touch.

So far, found this one technique that sounds remotely plausibe:

Even that will likely result in my serious injury.

But cat smells, MUST HAVE bath preliminary to vet visit for alteration.

I'm cat-sitting for a friend (she'll be gone for 4 weeks and didn't tell me when she asked if I'd watch the cat, which is an entirely different issue). The cat will hop up on my lap and want attention, but I won't pet her because she'll just lash out and bite. Since I know better than to pet her, she hops up in my lap and bites my hand! I won't even be moving my hand, it'll just be on the couch. Why does this cat bite for no reason?! What can I do to make it stop?

I have 2 cats, both females. One cat is pregnant with what seems like a small litter. We have found homes for many of the kittens and they are not even born yet. We are also planning on keeping any ones that do not find homes. So now that i covered myself for all the HATERS.. to my question

I have two female cats, the younger of the two is pregnant.The both get along ok, but since they are still young, they play fight alot. I know i will probably have to separate them when the kittens are just born, but what if she gives birth when i'm not home? Do i have to worry about the other female with the new kittens? the non pregnant cat is not viscous and actually is very nice and loving to small animals. She plays surrogate mama to them. Do i have to worry about her?

My cat, as a kitten was rotten as in mean. But, now if you barely touch him, he will attack you. I think something is wrong with him. Because he growls. He always wants to go outside. He gets really agressive. He doesnt eat alot even when I set out a lot. We took him to the vet, but they didnt know what was wrong? What do you think?

So I have two kittens, and one of them smells so bad! They are both indoor cats, and there isn't anything like food that they could get into. They are always together, but his brother doesn't smell at all! This cat is very loving and always wants attention, I just can't handle the smell! Please help!

They litter is just under 4 weeks and it hurts me to see her pick them up this way. Is it dangerous to their health? Is there some way I can correct this? When she moves them she is also dragging them across the floor. Thank you for your help.

we love our 8 month old cat and my partner plays with him during the day but hates when she comes up on bed at night , i dont know what to do as i dont want to shut the door behind the cat , i have tried several times to discourage the cat by taking him to his bed but he comes back.

There is a cat lady in my home town that feeds all of the strays at the grain elevator. Everyday she comes and dumps half a bag of cat food on the ground (fortunately she does it at the same time every day). As soon as she leaves, I go out and sweep up all the cat food and put it in a tight container to be discarded.

A friend told me I shouldn't do this, but I don't want 1000 cats running around, and the food will also be providing for vermin. Fewer cats living and breeding now will mean fewer cats starving and dying in the future. Utilitarianism?

What do you think... am I a meanie or in the moral right (I know I'm in the legal right and the guy that operates the elevator thanked me for doing it)

I have 12 cats and 4 litter boxes and they are cleaned daily. I have one female cat that hates the other cats and won't use any of the litter boxes. If she has to "go" she uses my kitchen floor. She is older and I hate to throw her outside in the cold weather. I tried to add another litter box in the kitchen but she just does her business right outside of it and the other cats start using the new box. I really don't know what to do with her. Any ideas????

My sister and my mother let my cat out, though I've repeatedly told them not to. He's been gone for two days already and I'm worried about him esp. since its raining right now. They have let him out before, but he's never been out for more than 12 hours and he's alway come home when I called him. I've been calling him every few hours since I found out, and the only response I got was from the neighbor's cat. We also have left the cat door open ever since he left, and I know he hasn't snuck in since, because he would be crying for me to feed him.

What is the best way for me to find him?

I've already posted lost ads on petfinder.com and myspace.
I checked the county's animal control website and it said that all animals they find are registered on pets911.com, so I posted a lost report and checked the found reports, but I found nothing.

Is there something else I should be doing, or is it silly of me to worry after just 2 days?

About a year ago my cat had to be put to sleep, and I was there with him when it happened. I cried my heart out for about a week, but now I'm starting to have these awful dreams about him, and I miss him sooooo much!!! We used to spend so much time together, but my heart still feels broken no matter what I do.... One of my dreams made me wake up crying...>I was in my kitchen, and my dad was right next to me. He said he had skinned my cat (Tiny) and so he put Tiny's pelt around my shoulders. I started to cry and cry until my dad came home with a new cat with beautiful green eyes, so amazing and vivid and clear in my dream, I can't even describe them now. But the cat wasn't nearly as loving and wonderful as Tiny, and I just cried for what seemed like the rest of the dream, then I woke up. I have no idea why my dad would do something like that in my dreams, because I really have no problems with him. I feel like I can't live without Tiny, and I even write poems about him. Help! I'm sad...

My cat ate his throw up a few weeks ago. Will he get sick? Will he die? I was wondering what he was eating and it was throw up! I screamed. It totally freaked me out. I thought he was eating bugs or something. But it was nasty throw up!!! Need lots of advice!!!

I'm moving to Los Angeles to reside with relatives who are wary of cats. I'm looking for a temporary home for Junior. He's a 22 month old cat. Very playful and cuddly. I need a place for him to stay for about 2 months while I look for a place of my own. If you can help me I'll supply food and litter for him. I'm only able to pay very little for any other upkeep. I took my cat to the Vet today as she has had flaky skin on her back and it seems to irritated for the past few weeks. The Vet indicated she has Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrom. He did not even touch her to examine her. I'm going to get a second opinion. Would welcome feedback if anyone has seen similar issues with their cat, and how to treat.
