So I have two kittens, and one of them smells so bad! They are both indoor cats, and there isn't anything like food that they could get into. They are always together, but his brother doesn't smell at all! This cat is very loving and always wants attention, I just can't handle the smell! Please help!

So they are up to date on all of their shots. He smells like his little box, but its his whole body. He won't really let me wash him either, so thats why there is a problem.

so which end is the smell coming from? the butt? the mouth? its whole body? have they been dewormed? are their shots up to date? one kitten might be intolerant of the food you're feeding, or be sick. your question is too general - take them to a vet.

add:
a litter box shouldnt smell that bad - are you cleaning it daily? maybe try a better type of litter too. litter might also be stinking due to the feces and urine, which itself is smelling that bad from the kitten if there's something wrong with it. if you are keeping the litter area clean daily, i would suggest yet again that you take the kitten to the vet, whether you bath it nor not.

i have cared for many, many cats, and the things you describe are not normal if daily cat care is being carried out properly. i always looked at digestion next (food types being fed) clean water etc - is the feces sloppy or dark coloured etc. is the urine dark and smelly? is the kitten's breath smelly? keep note.

Well you could try giving him a bath (I know you said he does not let you, but it is always worth a try). If he does not like it there is always that dry shampoo that you could use. I was told that all you have to do is brush your cat. Then sprinkle the dry shampoo on and then just brush it out. Otherwise you could try scooping the litter box a little more often. I am pretty sure one of these three things with work. It worked for my kittens smell problem, so I hope it works for yours.

*Hope I helped*

I have learned from bad experience that the stink comes from multiple cats. One or two cats don't stink if you are very dilligent about cleaning out the litter box and not letting stinky food sit around. Also, if you don't get a male cat neutered before six months old he will spray urine all over your house which smells worse than anything I think I have ever smelled. Cats are fairly clean animals but when you have multiple cats they compete for territory and will mark their territory with urine. One cat should not be bad just keep her litterbox in an area that is away from where you might have company and scoop it at least daily if not 2x a day and get her/him spayed/neutered and you should not have smell.

Try dry shampoo from Walmart if you can't bath. It smells good and is great for winter.
