Hi Orange Peel,
A female cat will come into heat for 7 - 10 days every 15 - 20 days until she is spayed and/or bred. My cats went into heat before they were spayed, and they didn't bleed. Some people say their cats do, but apparently it is very little and spotty bleeding.

If you aren't sure if your cat is in heat or not, she's probably not. When she is she will drive you crazy. She will be crying all day long, and probably even rolling around the floor and rasing her hindquarters up. She will release smells that will attrack toms even if she's inside, so be careful. She will also do anything to get out of the house.

Please spay your cat. Dealing with heat is miserable (read above and ask anyone) and spaying has a lot of other perks too.
1) It's healthier. It prevents a lot of diseases, not to mention you don't run the risk of your cat getting hurt while looking for a male and mating, or getting sick from a male.
2) No kittens to find homes for. Although kittens are cute, they grow up and you don't want to try to give away five more 'adorable kittens for free'. (how many ads have you seen like that?)
3) Although it will cost about $30 - $50 to spay your cat, it would cost about that to feed a litter or two of kittens. You really gain money, not lose.
4) It's a very simple surgery and relatively easy to recover from. You just have to watch your cat's belly for awhile when picking her up.
Please call you local vet today!

Cats are in heat from early spring until the fall. They go into heat every few weeks until the winter, or she mates. I'm pretty sure they dont bleed. Cats rarely, if ever, bleed.

A female cat will stay in what SEEMS like an almost constant heat until she becomes pregnant. If she DOES get pregnant... you an plan on her going into heat AGAIN when the babies are around 6 weeks old. And YES... she'll get pregnant again.

Please get her fixed ASAP! There's too many homeless cats in this world.

I have a young female cat, my first female actually. I'm not too sure but they seem to be in season every few weeks but they don't seem to bleed. Sorry this is not much help.
