I wouldn't mind being a mixed-breed with tortoiseshell-colored fur...I'd be just like my cat Tika!

Someone told me if you cut some hair off your cat's taill and scatter the hair around the entry way (outside porch etc,) if he ever got out he would ALWAYS find his way home. How true is this?
No I'm not blonde.

My cat seems to be sick. He is an indoor cat, about 13 years old. I am thinking that he caught a cold because it has been cold but then again he is pretty old.

His symptoms include drool/snot on his chin, does not respond when calling him, doesnt come to bed or do routine things, he looks out the window instead of sititng by the heater as usual, he is shedding more than usual and has a weird walk. This started yesterday, accroding to my mom (we do not live together).

I am affraid of taking him to the vet because I have had bad experiences with them. I had two of my cats in the past died a few days after taking them to the vet (separate times) and plus I do not have much money to take him. What should I do?

My boyfriend got a cat, Ginger, a few months before we met, so I'm sure the cat is jealous that I'm in the picture now. Ginger used to be socialized before he got her, but now she's only used to him and doesn't like other people much. I have a dog who adores my boyfriend and likes to play with the cat. Sometimes Ginger will run away from or scratch my dog when she tries to play, and other times Ginger will scratch/swat my dog as my dog is walking by.

Also, very rarely, Ginger will allow me to pet her and will purr. Most of the time she recoils or leaves the room when I'm there. She sucks up to my boyfriend even when she's been a brat and clawed my dog or me. My boyfriend tries to be fair but usually blames my dog more because she's bigger.

I love animals, but this cat drives me nuts. I swear she's bipolar. I'm sure she can sense now that I don't like her, but I still make an effort. Anything I can do?

I have three cats, one old lady, one baby girl and her brother. The two girls are well behaved but the tom has a habit of meowing as loud as he can while wondering round the house. We thought at first that it was because he was calling the others but he does it even when he knows where they are? He is not unloved and doesn't appear to be looking for attention when doing it. any ideas?

I have a 3 year old female cat that keeps pooping in the bathtub. My husband is very angry and wants me to get rid of her. I thought she was only doing it when the water was not left of for her to drink. (she has done this since the day she came home) I got her a water fountain a few weeks ago and she uses it sometimes. Today she pooped again and the water was running. I don't understand. Can someone please help. My husband and I are hardly speaking because of this.

My shih-tzu is having to urinate more often lately and now there is blood showing up in the snow. Does anyone know what this could be?

I've bought my cat tons of toys...but she's not interested. However she loves playing with a straw or a rubber band. So much for the clever toys!

What can i do that wont cost me much or anything, and without being mean, cause i feel bad enough he has always lived in houses up until now, and he's three so I think he is annoyed.

He does not urinate or spray, just backs his hind end up with tail straight up and shakes his tail for a few seconds, then walks off. What is he doing?

His name is Spud and he's a few months old. He's been vomiting a lot and now he's started having sort-of 'spasms', where his muscles jerk and he swallows or gags. I took him to the vet and the vet said he didn't know WHAT it was, and sent me home with antibiotics. Needless to say, I'm not happy with that answer!

Spud seems to be alert, but has been acting as if he doesnt feel well the past two days, along with throwing up, trembling and having spasms. What could this be? He does go outside, but none of our cats have ever gotten into anything poisonous. The vet didn't even consider this possibility. He's been eating and drinking fine. I'm so worried! Please tell me what you think it could be!

We got a cat from a never-home neighbour 2+ months ago. He's pretty wary of people; we barely saw him for the first month or so.

Now, he hangs around us and will even ask for a brief petting. Things are improving, but he's still extremely skittish.

If you force him into a petting, he often stops trying to get away and starts purring.

Would you keep occasionally forcing a petting given the purrs, or should we just leave him to come to us?

I just found a kitten on the street that I am adopting. The kitten has a broken hip joint. As I live in Kuwait there is only one vet hospital so I can't get a second opinion. The vet said there is no need for a cast and a cast cannot do anything to it just let it heal on its own and the kitten will be able to walk normally. Currently the kitten just drags his leg behind him and sometimes can move it a little. Any advice?

Trying to compare long-term costs of daily topical therapy vs. one-time chunk of change for radioactive iodine treatment. Looking to hear from either cat owners or veterinary professionals. Any help greatly appreciated.
