My ex-housemate found our kitty in a palm tree at night 11 years ago. He was covered with fleas. I found some old shirts made a "nest" in the tree and put him back until morning when I ran out and bought some cat shampoo and a flea comb and food. I bathed him and talked to him and got all his fleas out. A few months later my housemate took him to the vet when I was at work and got him fixed and DECLAWED. So years later, me and the ex-housemate share custody of Kitty, but he doesn't cuddle with him, just me. Something about you makes your Kitty trust you, obviously you're the mom too. I say cats know a good egg when they see one, so you must be a good egg!

Cats are comfortable with certain people. I have a cat that will only let me pet and cuddle with him and I am part of a family of 5. Your kitten is still a kitten so he/she might grow up and be more comfortable around the other members of your family later on.

My cat does almost the same thing. She will cuddle with other family members but never willingly. If you happen to go up to her she will cuddle, but I'm the only one that she comes up to to cuddle on her own.

Are you the person that feeds her? If so, then that would probably be the reason. Most animals attach to the person that feeds them. My cat bonded to me because of this and because she sleeps in my bedroom every night.

Be happy about it! Cats are so unbelievably cute when they do stuff like that!

If you were the first person to hold her, it could be that she has become attached to you. Or maybe you know her "spots" that she likes you to scratch, pet, or whatever. Maybe it's just your perfume is you use it. Or it could be your motherhood. It could be something else or a couple of the above, but I'd accept the cuddling willingly. Just make sure to not wear black clothing when you hold her. The hair comes out like none of it is attached.

Some cats will choose one person to focus on and ignore everyone else.
That is a breed trait with Maine Coons- my **** ignores the family unless I am not home. Then the minute I get in she'll fight to get away and come to me. They tease her by trying to hold her and cuddle her and she howls til they let her go- she runs right to me and licks my hand, snuggles next to me and sighs...
Enjoy it. It's nice to be adored.
Oh- are you the one who feeds her? LOL

I think what you need to consider is how you treat the kitty compared to how the others do. cats can be little weirdos about stuff, i know mine certainly is as she behaves differently with me than with my partner. She's easily intimidated, skittish even with him. I may be a matter of extra gentleness with the kitty, or letting the others take turns feeding the kitty. She obviously likes how you deal with her so maybe they just need to follow your lead

Cats have preferences, too. Are you the one who feeds her? Are you the one who cuddles her first? She just prefers you.
