Animals can sense fear first of all! If you are afraid the cat WILL know! Give the cat some time to get used to you!
Good Luck!

Is the cat just attacking out of the blue? Or are you trying to pet the cat when he doesn't want to be? If the latter, leave him alone. Otherwise, your boyfriend is going to have to deal with the cat.

Now, there is a chance that the cat is jealous of you and thinks you are a rival for your boyfriend's attentions. In that case, it's definately up to your boyfriend to either consult an animal behaviorist or get rid of the cat.

Jealousy... you need to reasssure the cat that you're not a threat. Don't stare him out and try giving treats/ feed him when you're around. Ask your boyfriends not to feed the cat until you arrive.THis will then be a source of distraction. But particularly so if you feed him. Also he probably does not recognise your 'smell'- so wear an itemof your b/fclothing such as a jumper...

It feels like the cat is jealous. possibly you ought to take the kitty a take care of or toy and attempt to have some on my own time with the cat the place it fairly is not competing for interest. additionally attempt to not act too scared or jumpy around the cat because of the fact i think of they are able to experience that and it makes them greater demanding. If not something works, attempt spraying the kitty with slightly water whilst it gets aggressive and starts to wreck you. solid luck

Your boyfriends cat is trying to dominate you.
Was he/she in the relationship (boyfriend and cat) before you came into the picture? He/she maybe jealous! It happens alot.
Spend time with the cat and make sure she/he isn't ignored when you two are together. When you are at your boyfriends you feed her, and take responsibility for her then she will see you as higher in the rank than her instead of one of her litter mates or lower.

In what way is he attacking you, when a cat is biteing on you (not breaking the skin) they are showing affection and playing with you. I've been around cats all my life and I know they love it when you pet them and they like to put their paws around your arm or hand and bite and lick on you and that shows they like you. Does your boyfriends cat sleep with him? Cats can be jealous and they don't have masters like dogs "they have servants". Good Luck.

Do you own a dog? If so, there's the reason. If not, the cat may be protecting him and feel like you are a threat.
