I have had an adult male cat for approximately 1 month. My daughter wanted her own cat and knew someone that was giving away kittens. I told her she could get one if she agreed to take care of it. Upon arrival of the new kitten, we tried to introduce the cats to each other. At first, it looked like the adult was trying to clean the kitten until he bit the kitten. We tried a couple of times which only resulted in the same thing. Can anyone explain why?? Is it because the kitten is a female and my cat is a male?? Do male cats not get along with other cats?? I'm new to being a cat owner. Please help.

I got to work this morning and in our warehouse there was 2 kittens underneath a pallet. I saw the mother, and left them alone to do there thing. Well the mom came back for 1 of the kittens and took it away. The other one is still there by itself and has been for alittle over an hour. I dont want to leave it there to die. How long should I wait for the mother to do her thing, or has she abandoned it? Its crying and the mother is near by but not coming back for it. Any suggestions? Is there anywhere I can call to have them pick it up? Im at work so I cant go get milk for it or anything.. Any suggestions would really help, I feel so horrible for this baby..

I have a one year old female, recently put in a cat flap and a nasty big black cat comes in my house in the middle of the night and eats my cats food. When I came home yesterday my cat had wet herself on my bed and been sick, I have since found clumps of black cat hair around the carpet (my cat is grey) and have seen today that her ball has been ripped to shreds. I guess this other cat attacked her yesterday, she is very small and now very nervous and has bitten me today. What can I do?? We have started to lock the cat flap at night but the other cat comes in in the daytime now when its open. Infered cat flaps are £50 is this the only option I have??

Hi- my cat has a black, rough, kind of raised birthmark looking thing on her front left paw, hairless, it looks dry/flakey at times, with just a few hairs growing thru it. She is a completey indoor cat, however it doesnt look like its there bc she lays on it all the time. It kind of looks like the vet shaved her for an iv? possibly during her spaying, but the rest of her tummy hair is growing back, I dont know why her arm would create a weird dime-sized scab/scar? She does not excessivly lick or claw the spot, so why isnt it healing? These are just guesses.. lol I have no clue! anyone seen this before? have any guesses?

her fur reminds me of a home hair frost job..gone bad. She is beautiful but unusual. She is a stray found just before she would have most likely died. She had been declawed and is a kitten.

I am about to re-home two kittens from a litter of 3. They are going together and the last one is to be homed elsewhere. I am really anxious about taking them away from mum - they will be10 weeks old. ALthough she does nurse them on the odd occasion, the only interaction is when she watches them play and plays with them and when they have a rare cuddle with her.

Should she actually see them leave the house? Is that the best way? Or should I not worry about her being here when the family turn up to collect their new pets? I want it to as least traumatic as possible - please help - it;s bad enough coping with 3 kids being upset that the kittens are going let alone worrying about the mother cat!
thanks

Please someone help me before I go mentally insane...My partner & I got a kitten a year ago and i've always been strict about where it sleeps etc as i have very sensitive skin and i seem to constantly have flea bites (which are scarring me) even though my cat is treated for them. my partner is totally not respecting of this and although i have asked many a time for him not to let her sleep on the bed he still does and lies about it. i also can't stand its food on our plates which he still does even though i've bought the cat its own. agh! i am now 7 months pregnant and i just want to re-home the cat as it's making my life a misery worrying about it all the time and also about my baby. i just can't love this cat. have i developed some kind of pregnant woman protection instinct thing? please help... i cant even stroke it anymore and it's causing problems in my relationship.

Declawing is cruel and other places recognize that but the US seems to be way behind or just not compassionate enough or willing to care because material things are more important than life.

I am taking my two cats this Wednesday to get fixed. I will drop them off at the vet at 9 am and pick them up at 4 pm. How stressful this surgery will be for the cats? Will they be in any pain for few days after the surgery? For how long will they be in pain? I have never dealt with anything like this before, so I have no idea what to expect. Any advice.

my aunt told me that i should feed my cats only dry cat food ......because its better for them and that when they get older i should feed them fish more than beef/chicken cat food. ( she's been a cat owner since the early 80's and now has 8 cats!)

My cat loves cheddar cheese. I sometimes give him tiny bits as treats. Is cheese harmful for him, or is it okay?

When my two cats "what seems to be playing," they bat at each other, run for each other, sometimes hiss, and make loud noises. How do you know they're only playing and not fighting? Thanks!
