Hello i have had to separate a number of kittens from there mums and it does not harm them to see there kittens leaving for a couple of days the mum will call for her kittens but this will settle down. She will still call for them weather she See's them leave or not she will also go around the house looking for them. So what ever way you do the separation with mum there or not she will still have the same experiences of looking and calling for them.

It will be best for the kittens if they leave with as little fuss as poss so it will probably be best to do it when the children are not around. That way they can say their goodbyes in the morning, and the people collecting the kittens can do so in peace and the kittens won't be overwhelmed with too much wailing or cuddling etc!
The mum will probably fail to notice that the kittens are disappearing and if anything it will be a relief for her so dont worry for her sake.
The people who pick the kittens might like to see their mum so have her around if possible. She won't be disturbed to see them go.
Some cats wander around mewing when their kittens go but when she is sure they have gone permanently she won't bother any more.

Whenever I find a home for a kitten, I take the whole cat family to the new home. that way the mother cat can see that the little one is in good hands. Never have had problems with mother cat calling for her babies.

My cat Gracie called for her kittens and looked for them she had a different sound that she made for each kitten I think it is cat talk and she had them named. My kids came home from school calling the kittens the kids understood better than the Mum cat did. But within time she stopped calling them and did fine.

12 weeks. Many breeders will shop them till sixteen weeks. Kittens would desire to be socialized to human beings and cats. They learn lots from their mom and siblings. We got here across a stray woman who had a clutter. We enable one bypass at 10 weeks because of the fact he substitute into going right into a house with a brilliant style of alternative cats. We get known updates and he's adapted ok. the different 2 left at 12 weeks because of the fact there have been no different cats in that abode (yet they stayed mutually), they are additionally effective. The kitten we saved substitute into greater disillusioned than the mummy on the subject of the kittens leaving. Why are you breeding her besides? I felt in charge for letting the female we got here across have kittens and she or he substitute into pregnant as quickly as we got here across her. If we hadn't got here across residences formerly they have been born we could have had her spayed and that i nonetheless would desire to handle the certainty that 3 kittens would die in shelters now because of the fact of our determination. On appropriate of that, this is not undemanding artwork for mom cats and saved her way too busy. She's lots happier now that she gets to run and play. She treats her son as a pal now as a substitute of demanding approximately looking after him. Please a minimum of think of roughly getting her spayed. She'll stay an prolonged, happier life.

I wouldn't stress over it. I've had to give away many kitties in my time and I've never had trouble with the momma cat. It's always been me who takes it the hardest. As far as the kids are concerend let them say there good byes and then distract them with ice cream :)

Have someone there to help calm the mother cat as her babies leave. This will create a more calm situation for them all. Make sure you allow your kids to at least hug and hold the kittens before the parting--it will help "mend the wound".

Don't stress about it. In nature they would probably have already gone by now. They just wander off after a few weeks. She'll be fine, the kittens'll be fine whatever you do.

cats don't have the same emotional attachment to their young as we do to ours. she won't be bothered by it and she may actually be relieved a lot of cats that have been the only cat for their whole life feel like the new kittens are an intrusion.
