Hi- my cat has a black, rough, kind of raised birthmark looking thing on her front left paw, hairless, it looks dry/flakey at times, with just a few hairs growing thru it. She is a completey indoor cat, however it doesnt look like its there bc she lays on it all the time. It kind of looks like the vet shaved her for an iv? possibly during her spaying, but the rest of her tummy hair is growing back, I dont know why her arm would create a weird dime-sized scab/scar? She does not excessivly lick or claw the spot, so why isnt it healing? These are just guesses.. lol I have no clue! anyone seen this before? have any guesses?

It's hard to tell from your question-- if it was from the IV, it would be at the top of her front leg, on the front of the leg. If some of the anesthetic agent leaked out of the vein, this could happen. If it is farther down her leg, it's probably something else. It could be a birthmark if she's had it her whole life, or it could be something like ringworm! It wouldn't hurt to ask your vet. Good Luck!!

you do not say the position on the paw that's. listed lower than are some issues to reassure you; Is it on his paw pads? My cat better huge darkish patches on his paw pads and it seems they are purely like freckles. possibility free marks on the exterior. Is it midway up his paw the position you would assume an elbow to be? Is it fairly small? if so then large! that's common and should be got here upon on each and every person of his legs, even though it will be confusing to locate (and is the reason why you would purely have found it now). A cat has whiskers right here, on his legs / paws (the whiskers would no longer yet be seen because they seem to develop in slowly - i'm assuming your cat is a kitten?) and the whiskers develop out of a small knobbly patch which feels difficult and distinct from something else of his leg. If neither of those issues sounds perfect then perchance you would possibly want to take a image and link from right here to the image so as that we can see. i'm quite sensible it sounds common, yet as continually, in case you truly are at a loss as to what it really is, you could take him to the vet as they are used to new proprietors asking questions like this. extra useful to be secure than sorry!! wish this helped :-)

Yes! Be concerned. My yorkie got a black patch like that on her tummy and I tried several things to get rid of it. I finally took her to a vet and it is a problem only prescription antibiotics can get rid of.

Since it is a cat I wouldn't worry about it. Now if it was a dog I would take it to the vet as soon as you can and get treatment.
