I got to work this morning and in our warehouse there was 2 kittens underneath a pallet. I saw the mother, and left them alone to do there thing. Well the mom came back for 1 of the kittens and took it away. The other one is still there by itself and has been for alittle over an hour. I dont want to leave it there to die. How long should I wait for the mother to do her thing, or has she abandoned it? Its crying and the mother is near by but not coming back for it. Any suggestions? Is there anywhere I can call to have them pick it up? Im at work so I cant go get milk for it or anything.. Any suggestions would really help, I feel so horrible for this baby..

Wait till time to go home and take it with you. Call Animal control and ask for "ADVICE". Our AC fellow goes out of his way for animals. PS the waiting is to give mama time to get back: please don't be too hasty. Your good heart will see this through.LUCK

She may not have abandoned it. If she came back for the 1, she probably will come back for the other, but she's just waiting until she feels safe enough to do that. Try to keep things a bit quiet in the warehouse if possible (it may not be I understand that). When she hears the baby crying, she should come back for him.

If she has abandoned him, then you'll have to bring him the a shelter. Most times. there are volunteers that foster kittens, will take care of him and nurse him until he's old enough to be adopted. They can come and get the mother and other kitten too.

The sad truth is that if the mother cat abandoned her kitten then there is probably some thing wrong with the kitten. I would call a no kill animal shelter to get them to pick the kitten up. You could try to take care of it your self by feeding it kitten milk but it is a very time consuming responsibly.I went through all of this with my sisters cats baby and I was told by a vet to feed it every 2 hours. If you can handle the responsibly of taking care of it, I would call a vet. My vet told me a recipe to actually make the milk for the cat.

If you can get near the mother, you could put it with her, when she's feeding the other one. How small is the baby? If it is newborn, it really needs warmth. If it is abandoned, you must put it in blankets and put it under a lamp which is warm or near the radiator. They only eat special milk for kittens, not cow milk. If the kitten is old enough to walk around and eat, you can give it a little chicken from your sandwich or something. If nothing works, take it to a vet. But try perhaps to get the mother over there, by putting food there for her.

Poor baby!

You can find an empty box and put the kitten in it, preferably somewhere out of the drafts. If you can, find something soft for the kitten to lay on. I normally don't suggest this, but if the kitten is hungry- and he might be, you can try feeding him creamer or perhaps a bit of tuna, until you can find someone to take him off your hands. An hour is a long time for a momma cat to leave a kitten alone.

Contact the local animal shelter or SPCA for further advice. They might be able to send someone.

Good luck!

Try calling a local veterinarian and ask what to do. You can also call your local humane society and they may have someone who can come and get the kitten. If I were you, I'd leave them alone for a little while and see if the mother comes back when things are quieter.

If you take it to any kind of shelter of humaine society, they will just put it to sleep. The same thing happened to me, I had to bottle feed my kitten KMR for a couple weeks until she really started using her teeth. Now she is about a little over a month old and I could not live without her! Hand raised kittens are extremely loyal and loving....I say keep it as your own!

first wrap it in a blanket tokeep it warm then go to a nearby vet/shelter they can get it some milk to drink and it will be warm in the building and they can tell u what u can do to help them with the kitten. if u want to u can even adopt the kitten after u get it to a shelter.
i hope the kitten is saved!

She Will come back for it...Just keep everyone away from it..She's scared right now. Cats often move their kittens around and will have them in seperate places..They really dont need to nurse as much as you would think.

Try to keep the area quiet, the mother will try to come back for the other baby. Don't remove it just yet.
