My cat is obese-he came in as a skinny feral cat a few years ago and gorged! After that, although he had around the same amount of food as my other (not fat) cats he continued to increase in size.
For the last year or so he has been on a weight reducing dry food as suggested by the vet. After an initial weight loss, he put the weight back on again even though he was still on the diet and just won't lose an ounce. He weighs over 8kg.

I have two cats and I have collars on both of them with name tags and my name and phone number. My kitties like to bolt sometimes when I open the door, so I just want to make sure if they ran out someone would contact me if they found them. I feel like it's kind of mean though to make a cat wear something everyday. Is it ok to have them wear collars? I know people do it all the time, but I just feel bad about it sometimes.

He is a 1-1/2 yr old Siamese. A couple of days ago he began limping, then switched to putting no pressure on it (hind leg). Then he began walking on it again and now we're back to putting no pressure on it. He stretches it out behind him, but won't walk on it. He does not cry/wince. Can anybody give me a clue on what might be wrong? I do take care of him best I can (has good shelter, good food, fresh water) and he is affectionate with me. There are no obvious signs of injury, no red marks, no scratches, etc. I, unfortunately, am laid off work and cannot afford a trip to the vet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is a female calico, Half of her head is orange and the other half is brown tigered. She is around 2 years old and was left in a garbage bag on the side of the road. She is very lazy, sleeps a lot even compared to other cats. Please no kiddie names.

Lately, we've been noticing our cat is eating way too often. At first we used to feed him dry food which he really didn't care too much for, then we tried whiskas cat food in a can, which he didn't care for too much either but still more than the dry food. And now we have him on whiskas cuts, which are pieces of meat in with alot of gravy and he loves it!!! But, now he's always hungry for it and can never get enough. He eats more then 8 packets a day!!! HELP!!! Whats wrong, we don't want him to get too overweight which he already is cause of his eating habits now!!!!!!!Thanks!!!!!

Is it possible to walk by your cat and not pet her/him? I catch myself petting everytime I walk past mine.

Their home is being bulldozed and they will surely be buried alive if somebody doesn't rescue them. Please SAVE these precious animals.

How worried should I be? My 6 month old Siberian kitten was diagnosed 6-7 weeks ago with a Type I murmur. The vet had hoped it would disappear as he matured. But, at pre-alteration checkup today, he was labeled with Type II sternal murmur. The vet suggested I get an ultrasound (doing this Friday) to know what (if anything) we exactly are dealing with before I have him altered. This past summer, I lost my elderly cat to congestive heart failure after a 3+ year battle; the problem started as a simple heart murmur. I'm scared I'm going to have to go through this all again. Any thoughts?
