If your cat did get scratched in the eye, then puffiness and discharge are the body's way of fighting an infection and bacteria. It may be a good idea to take him to the vet, anyway. One of my cats had something similar happen....a small scratch, which had been treated by a vet, turned out to be so much more. He developed an infection inside his eye, which caused it to rupture, resulting in the loss of that eye. Although your cat's problem is probably not that serious (I'm not trying to scare you), but it's always a good idea to have them looked at by a vet.

sounds like a scratch to me. You need to get some antibiotics for your cat or its eye could get an infection! Also, terramycin is a good product to try, thats most likely what they would give you at the vet anyway!

yes,try it first.terramycin is an antibiotic ointment,so it should be all u need.eye problems and oozing can be caused by upper respiratory infections as weel,so if the cat starts coughing/sneezing and has nasal discharge, then u would have to see a vet for antibiotic pills.if it is just an injury or scratch, the terramycin will take care of it.

Anything that has to do with the eyes should be seen by a vet. I would not use terramycin for corneal scratch. We prescribe BNP in cases like this, You should definatetly have it looked at before putting anything in his eye, have your vet stain the eye for sure.

it particularly is in all hazard an infection through wreck of a few variety. a man or woman with little money has to do a similar factor that human beings with numerous money does: take the cat to a veterinarian to have it dealt with.

Catand dog eyes are as delicate as human eyes. Please do not try and diagnose and treat your cats eye by yourself you can do the eye more harm than good. Your cat needs to be seen by a veterinarian who can diagnose and treat the eye properly. Please call a vet for an appointment.
