Is it possible to walk by your cat and not pet her/him? I catch myself petting everytime I walk past mine.

nope. It is utterly impossible. My hypothesis is that all cats give off "cute rays" that snatch hold of you as you walk by, and you cannot break free without making physical contact with the offending feline. And kittens are worse. Their range is way wider. Every time I notice my kitten curled up in his bed in the corner of my eye, I must stop what I'm doing and give him love. Especially if he's doing the "roll on my back and show you my belly" thing. It's killer.

Enjoy the little bugger, I know I enjoy mine!

No I can't pass by my cat and not pet her! I even pet my friends dog like I pet my cat & my friend laughed and said "Jimmy is a Dog not a sissy little cat!" Well I think Jimmy likes the way I pet him softly on the head! He is not as soft and silky to the touch as my cat but I think he likes it.

Not for me, its not...and why stop at petting, I end up having a 10 minute snuggle fest each time.

LOL....I live in a 500 sq foot house and have 4 cats and 1 dog...so suffice to say, I get very little done in a day thanks to our paths crossing all the time!!

Hi there...I think when one truly loves a kitty the temptation to resist to touch them is inevitable--so many of us can't just help ourselves because it makes us feel good to pet them. They have that magical way of touching our hearts with their sweetness, eh?

I'm afraid you have a serious case of Kitty Love.
This can be treated by ignoring it completely, and continuing on as you would if you didn't know you had it. :)
Your kitties may have Owner Love as well. Treat similarly.

I always pet mine as I pass him by. Hubby sometimes complains that I love the cat more than him. lol (He may be right. shhh don't tell him LOL).

Just because my cat rubs against me doesn't mean he gets attention from me. But when I'm in the mood and he's in the mood ... we couldn't be in a better place - him curled up next to or on top of me, keeping me warm ... and me rubbing him under his chin!
