Have the cat neutered if he isn't already. That will reduce the odor of his urine.

Bleach works, but use that only after you have cleaned the area. Bleach and urine mixed together produce a gas that can actually asphyxiate you.

There are some good odor eliminators out there--Simple Solution, Nature's Miracle, and OdoBan are three. Your vet might also be able to order some extra-strength stuff.

This is a big pain. Get it now before it gets too old!!! Depending on what he sprayed on you can try bleach, vinigar, various different products found at your local pet store. Get a shampooer it its on carpet and clean it up with that special pet stain soap NOW! Unfortunatly I haven't found anything that works for me but my cat's stains are older. There is some stuff you get in a yellow bottle from Superpetz that cleans up stains and keeps them from going again. I dont have the name but thats the closest I've come.

Enzyme cleaner. Nature's Miracle. Enzymes are used to "eat" the offending stains & odor. They are also used in oil spills & things like that.

The male cat is marking its territory. Take it to the vet and have it neutered.
