Well my cat has just had 4 kittens and we also have 2 other female cats in the household and one of those females are the mother of the cat who has just had kittens, well the kittens are about 4 weeks old. But every time the kittens get near there nan as you could call her, she hisses and becomes very nasty, she dosn't hurt them but just hisses and spits at them, why dose she do this?
The other 2 females are fixed and vaccinated the other female cat has no problem with the kittens so why dose the other female, the kittens nan, do this?
And also the mother of the kittens has no problem with her mum, her mother is the only one with this behaviour why is she acting like this?

My beautiful kitty, Echo, has seven toes on each of his front paws. These three extra toes have their own pad too. These cats are AKA Hemmingway because the famous writer used to breed them on his little island. Do any of you have one?

okay now that i found out cats can have a litter of kittens to different fathers i'dlike to ask a specific question this black and white cat had three kittens that looked all exactly the same except the male is a bit larger (which is normal assuming he is a male) and their colours are different the male came out black and white like the mother another female cat came out tortoise shell and another came out white with honey patches...what are the chances that these kittens all have different fathers??? the lady who owns them assumes they have different fathers because they are different colours but i think this is completely normal in cats...??? anyone???

My cat has just recently had his shots but still needs to be neutered and he is about 6 mo. old. Early this morning he escaped and hasn't returned. It has been about 16 hours. I am afraid he went looking for females as there are lots of cats around here. Also it rained since he has been out and am worried that this may have made him lost. I was wondering if I should expect him to come back or if there is any way to attract him back. My friend tried putting fish outside but there is no sign of him anywhere.

Is it bad for the cat to get cuddled too much? What will happen to a cat if he gets too much attention? Will he get fat or something? Nikki and Toby are just one and a half, kittens, but they always meow outside my door and if I don't let them in and pet them they'll keep meowing. I don't treat them like humans, they are still animals after all. Can a cat get too much cuddlings and affection?

We just got my cat back from the vet. He had a terrible hematoma(not spelled right) that was infected and now he's wearing a cone so he won't scratch the stitches out. Except he keeps freaking out. He rolls on the ground and shakes his head and kicks and tries to scratch. It's been four hours or so now and we can calm him down for maybe ten minutes before he starts freaking out again. Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping him calm?

I still have to work so I can's just sit and talk to him (when he sits) I certainly can't keep chasing him all over the house.
I thought about giving him some kitty tranquilizers, but he's having to take an antibiotic, too, so I wasn't sure.
Also, does anyone have any helpful experience on how he can eat and drink with the cone on? I can hand feed him cat food sometimes, but not all the time and I can't do anything like that with the water.

Please, anyone with any experience in this, I would love your help.

about six months ago, my cat started reacting like he was being bitten or had some kind of skin parasite. He goes wild trying to scratch or bite the area on his back where he is sensative. He will also now bite anyone that touches his back. I have shaved his fur twice, no marks, no parasites, nothing to cause the sensativity. Does anyone have any idea what this problem might be and how do I stop it.

My cat is 6years old cat that is declawed, spayed, all shots, and uses the liter box. She is a short haired multi color indoor cat (black, grey, and white) and I really need to find her a good home. She would really good for someone without children and who has a love for cats. I am trying to find her a home because due to my asthma and allergies I cant keep her any longer. But I love her so much and I really want to find her a good home with some one who will love her and care for her. I live in Knoxville TN and I hope that someone will read this and be able to help me find her a good home.

Me and my kitty moved into a new apartment about a month ago. Things are fine, and she has adjusted well. However, now that it is getting colder outside, I have to turn my furnace on. Whenever it kicks on, she meows like she is in heat! It is so loud and terrible! I have to put her into my bedroom till it kicks off. She is spayed, and she has not acted like this since till now. I don't want my new neighbors to complain about the noise that she makes. But I don't want to freeze either!
I thought maybe she would get used to the extra noise, but the furnace has been on for about 3 days now, and she still doesn't stop. She is 4 years old, so she has lived through winters before and they were nothing like this. HELP!

He's completely healthy other than the vomiting. His stool is very normal and is eating normally. I've been thinking it was his collar bothering him so i took it off him, but i'm not sure. I also have a theory that it might be because he's very afraid of my brother and it might just be a nervous condition he has. His behavior is normal as well, but he hides whenever my brother comes over my house. If anyone has any ideas of what it might be i'm more than happy to hear them.

I posted a question a little while ago and had mentioned that I use Iams kitten food for my cats. Someone stated:

"it's filthy pet food and IAMS does horrible & cruel testing on animals in appalling conditions and all my family, friends & I are never going to buy iams products..."

What kind am I supposed to buy that will be healthy and does not test on animals? How can there even be any pet food company that doesn't test it on animals? Who would eat the food for them to see if it's even marketable?

I really WANT to like cats...but they don't seem to like me. They're mean and they never want to play or antyhing...they just sleep and act like brats. Why would anyone have an animal that you have to feed and care for that doesn't seem to like you at all?

Will Metronidazole crushed into a suspension of pet tinic make my kitten's poop stink so bad that it burns my nose? I'm not trying to be gross, but she eats dry Iams kitten food and her poop shouldn't normally smell this bad.
