I would like to know if there is some kind of spray i can spray on the lounge to make them stop!!

Most Cats dislike the smell of citrus. You buy natural lemon oil, tangerine, orange, lime, or grapefruit oil and add a 50/50 water to rubbing alcohol in a small sprayer. Kitty usually no more like to scratch on areas human sprays on. The added bonus is it isn't harmful to dear precious kitty and makes you house smell pleasant with out the use of nasty chemicals that will give you colo-rectal cancer in the long run, so you and kitty can be happy for years. Also, buy a cat scratch log and put your kitty's favorite scent like catnip or what have you. Hooray!!!

Hi ,
My cat did this when she wanted my attention because I'd say noooo and she meow me and run off. Now I brought her a two story cat pole with ledges (only $29) from cheap shop and she loves it! she chews the mouse sleeps on the ledge , I have it in the front window and most importantly she uses the poles to strach! we have huge gum tree she climbs on and scratches outside she still has a quick grab off the couch once a month to be naughty but I don't say any thing to her just shoo her and now it's hardly eva. The poles a great idea. Don't use chemical sprays it's not good for any body (cats included)Moon

I have used the Sticky Paws strips of double-sided tape on the ends of my furniture. You get a lot of strips for just $10 and you can take them off in a few months especially if your cats use a scatching post or a $10 cardboard floor scratcher.

Yes buy a cat scratching post from a shop
they are pretty cheap & cats love them,buy some cat nap as well & rub that on the post etc& buy some toys as well
You can get all sorts of toys.. tunnels for the cat to climb through & all over

You can put double-sided tape on the furniture. Cats hate anything sticky on their paws.
At the same time, rub some catnip on the cat's scratching post to make it more alluring.

There are also some soft claws for kitties..(kinda like a glue on nail)If you go to Fosters and Smith you can find them(I'll try to find a link and edit into this unless someone else beats me to it)...those are very good too.
And I just wanna say bless you for not declawing(((hugs)))
Declawing IS inhumane!! It is amputation!! go look here if you want proof of the cruelty.

ummm...getting it de-clawed would work. some think its inhumane, but depending on your cats age (this is usually done when they are kittens) it may not be possible. that is probably the best way to stop them from ruining your furniture. some sprays to keep cats away can be hazardous to the animal if they are not left on for a certain amount of time without the cat having access to it...(so if you go that route, dont let the cat around the area you sprayed for a few hours at least) good luck!

there are sprays available in most petstores, they also have basically double sided tapes you can put on the furniture so when the cat goes to scratch they paws stick and they don't like that.

There is a spray that you can get a pet stores that keeps cats from going back to places to scratch you don't want them to.
