Is it bad for the cat to get cuddled too much? What will happen to a cat if he gets too much attention? Will he get fat or something? Nikki and Toby are just one and a half, kittens, but they always meow outside my door and if I don't let them in and pet them they'll keep meowing. I don't treat them like humans, they are still animals after all. Can a cat get too much cuddlings and affection?

You can NEVER give your pet TOO much attention. They seem to know when they have had enough and they wander away to do their normal cat (or dog) things independently of you.
As for your kittens meowing at your door, that can easily be solved by NOT closing the door on them. To the kittens, you are the SECURITY BLANKET and it upsets them if they think you are not accessible to them. Allow them to be in the same room with you while you do your own thing. You'll find that they will just happily play at your feet or curl up at your desk and watch you. Remember that you are imprinted on their minds as their primary care giver (mom or dad) and they want the assurance that you are accessible to them - just in case a big bad wolf comes along, you know.

LOL... k k lets ask alternate question. Can YOU get fat from loving a family member or relative too much? You can't gain weight from affection... K if your cat eats too much, yeah it's gonna get some pounds. And dude, they are kittens... don't let them be outdoor cats...because they can end up getting lost and you know what happens... if not, use your imagination... Just remember... cats can't burn carbs from love and affection... Yes it's a necessity to love your cat whenever it needs...

Some cats do get fed up with too much touching but I have only experienced this with two cats in particular and they were both very independant male cats. When he decides enough is enough he will let you know. A sharp bite to the thumb followed by the cat getting up and moving away is a sure sign. I have learned that when he wants to be petted he comes and lays by my lap and when he doesn't he will start with a soft bite which will get more forcefull if I keep petting him.

Cats are just like people. They LOVE it when you give them lots of love and attention. To them there is no such thing as to much love. And you can always tell if they don't feel like attention right then because they'll start tryin to get away.

Never. And by the way, humans are animals as well. Check it out at your local college. You are their human being....the one that loves and cares for them...they might get fat. But fat, isn't a bad thing....as it only happens if they are fixed or overfed. Let them in. Pet them...they will watch your back. Trust me.

No! That's what makes cats so cool, they are so loveable. It's relaxing for me when I pet, play with, and cuddle my Tika. And cats return the affection in their own unique ways.

Catnip is actually a mild herb from the mint family, but it's not as strong smelling to us humans. Cats go nuts for it! Not sure why..they apparently like the scent of mint. I had a mint-flavoured teabag on the table one day, and my cat Lucy went NUTS! She was bonkers playing with it, and tore the teabag to shreds! She was "buzzed" off the minty smell! It was hilarious! She won't go near regular catnip now, she only like the "pure stuff"! So I let her play with her mint teabags. lol.

There is a yes and no answer to that question....
NO because that is what the relationship is all about...who else can you be loved by so much and act as goofy to?
YES because you will most likely outlive them and it hurts like hell when it is their time to leave...
so....risk having 20 amazing years for losing an amazing comapnion? YES, worth it all!!!
