She is 3 years 8 mons. old. We took her to the vet last year for sneezing and stuffy nose and they gave her ammoxicilin. They temporarily went away. This year they weren't just seasonal, she got them in spring and still has them now in fall. We took her to the vet again. This time they gave her a shot of penicillin and ammoxicilin. It didn't work again. They told us if it doesn't work, there was nothing we could do. I want to know if they make Claritin or something for cats?

We have two kittens named 'Isis' and 'Lulu'.

My BF and I named one each. He chose Isis as she looks similar to an Egyptian cat, and she oozes strength and power. I named Lulu, because she is tortoise shell and for some odd reason reminded me of Lulu from the 'Bananas in Pyjamas'. I can imagine a red bow behind her ear :-)

Their names ABSOLUTELY suit them.

My fiance and I just got a baby kitten, we had originally called her Laser because of the sound of her meow, but that doesn't suit her anymore as she is maturing. To give you some ideas she is a grey & white female, who is very very playful, she loves to pounce and wrestle and nibble on fingers. We would like something a little more imaginative and original. Thank you for your assistance.

I found my kitten when she was about 5 or 6 weeks old, it's been a little over 2 weeks and I'm beginng to worry about her upbringing in a single cat home. She follows me around and cries when I leave, and while I am very flattered that she has become so attatched to me I'm afraid she's going to grow up with an aversion to other cats. I have 3 dogs and they've done very well adjusting to the new fluffy addition to our home. Little Evey is sequesterd from them most of the time, I'm afraid of letting her go down the stairs on her own, as she's so young and the wood floors are brand new and very slippery. I'm an 18 year old college student and I live with my parents. Evey is a sweet little kitten with tons of energy. I'm always willing to play with her, but sometimes she does wear me out. I was thinking that adopting another cat for her to interact with might be best for her, but I'm not sure how to present the idea to my parents (mainly my mom) or what age the other cat should be.

My three year old Maine Coon has terrible breath. It makes you want to gag whenever he opens his mouth near you. The vet said this is caused by tartar build up and to give him tartar control cat treats. Well the problem is we have bought nearly every brand of tartar control treat on the market (Friskees, Pounce, Whiskas, ect) and he will not eat them -- I can't even trick him into eating them by mixing them in with his food.

We even held him down and brushed his teeth but it didn't seem to help his breath. Does anyone know anything else we can try to fight his tartar?

He never used to do that, now suddenly he can't leave them alone. I haven't changed his food or anything but I wonder if he's missing some mineral from his diet. Has anyone else had this problem?

In the past few days, both of my cats have started panting - mouth open, tongue out, heavy breathing. I've heard it has to do with body temperature, but they aren't playing much more than they have before and they've never done this. They have also started to very frequently open their mouths and stand completely still. One is 15 months and the other 8 months, and both are neutered males. Any idea what's causing these changes in behavior?
