Your cat will absolutely hate the new kitty! Trust me! If she is the queen of the house... I had a cat who was the queen of the house and I just got a new kitten. My cat hates her!! She hisses and growls at my kitten and she started going to the bathroom outside of her box because the kitten used her box. So unless you want to deal with this, dont get another cat!

I have 3 cats, all of which I adopted separately. The first one acted alot like your cat, the queen of the house. When i got my second cat, the two of them did not get along for the first couple of weeks. Eventually as time went on however, they learned to tolerate each other. They are now pretty much good friends. They'll have their moments where they fight, but I think all cats do that at some point or another. When I got my 3rd cat, the first two didnt get along with him at all. But after a few weeks, as before, they learned to all tolerate each other. My cats love having other cats around because they will clean each other in places that they normally cant reach and will sometimes cuddle up together. I think its sometimes good for an animal to have another animal friend in the house. I think this is the information you have to let your parents know..

Tell your parents that after a "getting to know" period, the two cats will more than likely get along. A year ago my husband brought home an abandoned kitten, and it took a couple of weeks for our cat to get to know and like her. We just had to keep the new one separated for a while, and gradually introduced them to each other. Our first cat didn't like her at first, but now they're the best of friends, and they play together all the time. Cats are very territorial, it just takes love and patience, that's all. Good luck! :)

Thats how it was with my cat.She was in fact the queen of the house, and she knew it to. She hated other cats and protected her territory like crazy. When we had to give her up I was worried of how she will act with other cats. When we called to ask if she is doing okay, the shelter said that she is going well with the other cats. They introduced her properly(slowly, a step at a time) to the other cats. So thats what you have to do. But it takes time.So i would recomend for you to let your teachers cat go and wait for another chance at a cat so you can get your queen cat ajusted with other cats!

: ) good luck!

When I got the "LOOK" I knew I was in big trouble and I'd better back off, before my rear end was set on fire.Maybe she didn't use matches or a lighter-------but------the fire was as real as if she had. I knew I'd have trouble sitting for a while.. My Mom was the tough one. My Daddy was more, now you know I'm going to have to tell your Mom. Sometimes I could talk him out of it and boy, was I ever glad.

I dont agree that it wouldnt be fair to Lena. But if she is very independent and the "queen" of the house, she may not like having new company.
I hate to say, but you might have to listen to your parents, as hard as it is.
You could however, ask you parents to help you find the cat a good home. Ask them to ask coworkers and neigbors.

i would start out with something big! like saying i want a python or something dumb like that. ((no offense python owners they just creep me out)) and for the cat vs. cat prob. seperate the cats until ur kats are comfortable w/ each other.
