ive got an answer for you. i work at a dog grooming salon and we have to whiten animals all the time. first buy a degreaser wich is available at a pet supply store like petco, or you can order it from a groomers catalog, you dont have to be a groomer to get the catalog and order from it. or if you want a fast remedy and cant find degreaser, you can buy ajax brand dish soap and wash her every where the soot is because soot is greasy. rinse her well. then you need to wash her with a blueing or whitening shampoo wich you can also buy any where. it will be blue in color. the blue will bring out the natural white in her fur and it tones down any brassy hues . the soot may still stain her fur but if you wash her again in a couple weeks more should come out. hope it helps.

If you notice the person above me says she works at a dog grooming place and for you to buy a degreaser.

You might have also noticed others saying to use Dawn dish soap...which is also a degreaser!

My advice, save the money and use Dawn rather than some expensive animal degreaser.

Enjoy!

take a very small amount of dawn dishwashing detergent and mix with warm water and apply to a small area and rinse very well. Dawn will get most stuff out. Use a Q-tip, and don't get around the eye area.

I second the vote for Dawn dish detergent. And don't skimp and get off brands.

My vet recommends it for kitten baths.

OH--how attractive is this??!! properly, i visit furnish you with one suggestion for a attractiveness---and it is the call of the orange stripped tabby kitten (6 months) who replaced into the love of my stay--stolen below a week before I had him scheduled to get neutered. This replaced into "Ozzie". "Ozzie" replaced into an finished CLOWN! maximum animals do no longer opt to be laughed at or made relaxing of, it is wisely-well-known. "Ozzie", on-the-different-hand, THRIVED on it! He might want to do the craziest issues in basic terms to get human beings to snigger at him---and OMG--this kitten replaced right into a finished popcorn freak, and knew the position it got here from---the microwave. He sit down on the top of the table in basic terms waiting and smelling because it popped, and he might want to truly polish off a a million/2 bag of all of it by technique of himself. "Ozzie" also loved water--he'd play in his water dish until eventually he dumped it any such enormous volume of situations that I were given him a significantly better dogs water dish--in difficulty-free words to shop him from playing in the lavatory. This replaced right into a cat of all cats. I obviously do desire you've one with a personality like this---there'll not in any respect be a lifeless second. I nevertheless love and miss my "ozzie" in spite of the actual incontrovertible truth that this is been very nearly 10 years in the past. solid success with the names.

Try using a little baby shampoo and baby conditioner afterwards . It will eventually come out. Please don't use dishwashing detergent, this will only irritate the kitty's skin.
