hey theres a few ways to check like if there is anything in the stool ,thats obvious.also it depends on the type of worm .you may have hook worm if there is blood inthe stool.round worm can be felt through the skin like a round raised area.most other worms can be verified by white small seed like segments found around the anus .if your cat is an outdoor cat which makes it hard to check the stool consider keeping the cat indoors a few days.worms are easily treated and fairly cheap. best of luck.

The only sure way to know and to know what type(s) of worms it may have is to have a fecal test done by a vet.
A cat can harbor worms and have absolutely no symptoms at all. You won't necassarily see worms in the stool either.
Indiscriminate deworming, especially with OTC products should be discouraged. It isn't good to deworm with OTC dewormers as they are very often ineffective and they can also be dangerous. Also unless a fecal test is done you haven o idea what type(s) to deworm for and not all dewormers work for all types of worms.

There are different types of worms to look for, tapeworms (which are passed through fleas, they look like tiny rice granules.) To prevent your cat from getting tapeworms, make sure she is on flea prevention, and try to avoid letting her out at night when she would be able to ingest dead rodents.
Hookworms and whipworms are found in the large intestines and can cause bloody or very dark diarrhea. Hookworms and whipworms can only be seen under microscope so if your cat is having bloody or dark diarrhea, get that asap.
Roundworms are found in the small intestine, they look like tiny spaghetti noodles. Roundworm can be transferred to humans and can cause serious health problems.
If you notice any of these symptoms or see worms in the stool, collect a fresh sample of the stool and take it to your vet to be verified. If your cat does have worms, which are essentially parasites, she can be treated with medication. The longer you put it off the worse it can get. So get it taken care of as soon as you can :)

they have like a pot belly.
They either eat a lot more or alot less
They puke alot
they have diarrhea.
Sometimes you will see little worms in there poop!

they could also have none of these symptoms. Take your cat to the vet asap. They can get even sicker. Also if you don't take your cat to the vet worms can cause kidney failure in cats. And it will cost you more. and make your poor cat miserable longer. So please if you even think your cat is sick or has worms take it to the vet trust your instinct.

Your cat may scooch it's rear along on the carpet, also you can see worms stuck in the fur around its anus. It's best to take them to the vet, you dont want to get an over the counter medication for them as if you give the wrong dosage you can kill the cat. They can go into spasm and seizure then die. Have a vet take a look so you can get the proper medicine for them.

In their bowel movement. There is stuff you can get at the feed store and put in the cats food. Even if it doesn't have worms the medicine won't hurt it.

After your cat has a bowel movement, check and see if there are worms in the stool.

my cat had worms. tape worm

there are different kind of worms.
the symptoms of worms are loss of hair, loss of weight, and little moving worm-type things in their fresh poop. i know, gross. but monitor your cat's droppings if you have the slightest suspision of worms..

worms are very bad for humans, if the cat actually had it, it is contagious. i would recommend taking the cat to the vet.
