This little kitten was on the street, just the saddest, flea-ridden excuse for an animal. His eyes were all gooed over, skin & bones, thin, filthy fur. I took him in that night, made him drink some water, and took him to the vet the next morning. They treated the fleas and gave him antibiotics for the eye-goo and head cold (?!), and he eats & uses the litterbox just fine (not so good at not stepping in it yet... eww).
I'm not a cat person. My mother was allergic to cats, so we always had dogs in our family. I've kept rodents since I was eight, and I've even got a family of baby scorpions, now. Animals I'm fine with, just I've never had a cat.
Do the bowels need to be stimulated, as with young rodents, or because he uses the litterbox, he'll be fine?
How much kitten food should he eat? He's getting round in the belly. The vet said to feed him canned kitten food, but someone suggested that I should mix in formula.

I've been reading up on kitten care, but I don't know what I'm doing.

We recently moved to a farm and took along three small dogs and a mama cat and her 3 kittens. My daughter ran in very upset and had found that one of the kittens had been killed. It was a very hard thing to see and it was badly mangled. I have a hard time thinking that a coyote came right up on the porch and only took the one kitten. Any ideas on what else might have done this??

I have 3 cats, 2 male, one female. The two males started fighting months ago, so bad that the older male has had puncture wounds and scratches. The oldest is 9 and the youngest is 5, and I've had them both since they were kittens. The youngest, since he was 4 weeks old.

I've had to keep the males separated at all times. It's a little disappointing and upsetting to say the least that after 4 years of them living together, they've all of a sudden decided they can't live with one another. Both males get along with the female, who's always been low on totem.

Is there a way to work this out? I've tried supervising them, and it's no use, the youngest attacks as soon as he lays eyes on the oldest.

All three cats are altered and indoor cats only.

Any thoughts?
It's appreciated!

She goes in the litter box, but last night while we were eating dinner she peed (not just spray) on a bean bag chair right as we were watching. How do I get her to stop? She seems to do it for spite.

...she will sit and look at the wall (usually in a corner) and meow. She has food, water, and a clean litter box. Why is she doing this?

My friend's kitten doesn't really take well to strangers. I'm really not a stranger though, because I come over about three times a week. She lets me pet her sometimes if she walks by, but if I ever try to walk to her, she bolts. She hisses at me when I try to pick her up, yet sometimes she walks to me and puts her head in my hand like she wants me to pet her. Why?

We have tried a Spynx and my husband reacted to her. We do not want to spend $3500 on one of those new cats.

She's a year and a half old and I only feed her Purina Cat chow Indoor formula, at the same times daily. She's been on this food she she went from kitten to adult food, and I'd say within the last 3-4 months I've noticed she vomits up, excuse my analogy, a turd- like mass composed of digested cat food at least once a week. Is this normal?

Ok to me it's impossible to potty train a cat as much as finding unicorns! I admire those who master it!

So tell me how do you potty train your cat so it'd poop and pee in the litter box without going anywhere else? Can you teach an older cat that? Very specific tips and how you did it please! Very much appreciated!
