Maybe worms or maybe a itch. Call your vet. I have two kittens, no worms and they do that sometimes.

Cats will "scoot" across the floor when they have a tapeworm or other kind of worm because their bottom itches. They will also to do it release any pressure build up in their anal glands (two glands on either side of the anus at approximately 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock). These glands can become infected and impacted in some cats.

My son always took his long-haired orange cat in the shower with him when the cat needed a bath.

In my experience, animals that tend to rub thier butts on the ground have a bad case of worms. Try going to a local store that specializes in farm animals ( I know that sounds strange to do for your cat) but they will be able to sell you a wormer at an affordable price. Use only enough for your small cat, not enough for a horse. Do this once a month for three months and you should see a stop in this behavior.

That is a sign of worms in cats and dogs. You should take it to the vet to get tested. If it is worms then they will give the cat a pill to take care of it.

I have heard of cats wanting to get in the shower before. I'm not sure why some do, but I guess they all have different personalities like we do.

He, you have a funny cat, no most cats don't want to get in the shower. And about rubbing his butt on the ground, it is probably just itchy, but you might want to call the vet and ask just in case.

Your cat that drags himself across the floor sitting down has a bladder infection, and probably a urinary tract blockage. He needs to go to the emergency vet RIGHT AWAY. This can cause fatal kidney damage in male cats -- I've been told it can be fatal if you delay dealing with it even overnight. That's why you should take him to the emergency vet this evening, not wait till tomorrow, DEFINITELY not wait till Monday.
The vet will use a catheter to unblock him, then give you antibiotic pills to give the cat. It's not hard to cure if you take the cat to the vet on a timely basis.

Could be he has a parasite or some other health problem. You should take him to the vet. My longhair only rubs when he's come out of the catbox with a little still attached.
Cats generally like getting in the shower after you get out to drink the fresh water.

it extremely is probably no longer worms in case you're no longer seeing wiggly rice grains. Cats have anal glands that could become contaminated if all the waste isn't evacuated. Rubbing on the floor is the thank you to scratch on the discomfort. Take your cat to the record and then call interior the carpet cleaners!

It could be worms. If so, worm them both as if one has them the other will catch up soon. Could be the anal glands as well. Has he got diahorrea. Sometimes they'll rub their bottoms along the ground to clean it from their fur. If there's no diahorrea and he's still doing it after you worm him, I think a trip to the vet is in order.

he properly has worms and so has an itchy bottom and want to scratch it on the ground. You need to worm both your cats regularly. If its not worms, maybe he has a partial obstruction that needs removing, by a vet, not by you.
some cats do like getting wet though.

This could also be a sign of prostrate trouble in the cat - or if you have switched your cat's diet you may have caused constipation - and it's a soothing time for him/her.

Make an appointment with the vet - and get to the "bottom" of this. It isn't normal behavior for an animal.
